Who's getting a PS3 before Christmas?

Dam being 17 without a credit card, ive got one on pre-order but unless a killer game is released then its going to be sold straght away. I will be buying one the second ff13 or mgs4 is released which evers first regardless of price. Oh well not that ill have time to play with all the top 360 games being released and the wii theres no time for a ps3

Not gonna bother at launch, I didn't really need a 360 at launch to be honest I just had a HDTV and got swept up in the hype.

I'll wait for a price cut and/or a game to come out to blow me away, but for me I can't see much happening for it that isn't on the X360 in the future.

At the mo the i don't have a clue what is coming to PS3 or when it's out,specs etc.. but come launch i'm sure the hype will get me!

absolutely no chance for me, i simply couldn't justify the price, especially so close to xmas (having 2 kids).
But also it's their whole ****ing arrogant(sp)+smug attitude that pisses me off, the whole incident with the importing of psp's and psp games made my blood boil, i decided then that i would never, ever, buy a psp out of principle. That feeling is certainly carrying over to the PS3 also. Sony just seem to make me angry.
I guess i will have to get one eventually, but i'm gonna hold out @ least 18-24 months (if not longer for a large price drop).

When did Resistance become a potential killer app or whatever from what they showed of it at E3, it looked nice but nothing special. Certaintly not anything to convince me to spend ?500+.

I'm undecided but I'd say there's about a 95% chance that I won't. If it turns out to be region free, VF5 makes launch and a couple of other games turn out to be great I may cave in but given the amount of 360 and DS games I want this year, plus the Wii launch I doubt i'll even have the money to get a PS3 even if I wanted one.

I'm looking forward to MGS4 like Seany is for a smoke but the stupid price and the fact that MGS4 is not a launch game is holding me back.

However if Ridge is out on day one and it's blinding then I'll take the dive.

It's depressing to see "Singstar" as one of the seemingly important launch titles for a super next-gen hyper machine.

No for me until theres more info on the in's and outs of the machine. My wifes going away mid November for 6 weeks so could be a perfect time to grab a 360 or Wii (or both).

I dont see a reason to grab a Ps3, I bought a Ps2 at UK launch at falling for the hype. After 2 goes on DoA I went back to my dreacast pissed off that I spent over ?300 on the same stuff I could've been playing on Segas machine. I didnt even have a memory card or extra pad at that point.

The funny thing about the singstar is that other than opening up the tracks available (no doubt at a per-track cost) there can't be anything "next gen" about it - it'll be more or less exactly the same as the PS2 version

Yes but despite the Dreamcast being a brillant machine the PS2 had Ridge V, Timesplitters and Tekken Tag.

At the time they were criticised but going bnack to play them today they are still supprising peices of software. Still Ridge V is worth the asking price alone.

Kind of but the question asked is if you're getting one by Christmas and the only one that suites me is "No, I'm waiting for a specific game."

Although it's looking likely I dont believe Ridge or any game has been confirmed for launch day so I'm waiting for the launch line up to be set in stone.

Im talking about PAL launch, is this thread about all launches or just UK/EU?

I still wish people were into TTT but the PAL had 50hz mode only, same as Ridge. Wouldnt have been a problem if I hadnt seen my mates JAP import before hand.
