    Plenty.

    Wrestling
Fighting (I play some, but not enough to classify me as a fan or someone who is interested much in the genre)
    RTS (read above)
    Strategic RPGs (read above)
American sports titles (no interest at all)
MMORPGs (bar PSO, I've never really got into any of them)
Online multiplaying in general (though I'm hoping that I'll find a game that will 'click' for me and sway my interest somewhere down the line)

That's it off the top of my head. Everything else is fine so long as the quality is good.

I have tried to like Stealth games - played Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2, Splinter Cell and Hitman.

I just can't be arsed. Wait, wait, wait, distract guard, sneak up behind and kill...

      or...

wait, wait, wait, distract guard but cock up attack and get killed (because you control a wimp who can't fight for ****) then start again.

      That's real fun!!

RPGs - anything final fantasy-like. Too much talking!!!

Serious Sports games - SWOS and Brutal Sports Football on the Amiga are pretty much the only sports games I like.

Shooters - Ikaruga and the like. I'm just crap at them, and can't be bothered to spend years perfecting them.

Beat Em Ups - The classics like Street Fighter 2, i'll play those, but anything after that period is just too damn complicated, 40 moves per character, and 7 different ways to counter?? what??

Modern shoot em ups, can't stand the basts.

A shoot em up to me should be exactly that. Anything that moves is toast, simple. Combos, chains etc etc should stay in the realm of beat em ups et al.

I don't want to have to think about anything other then dodging bullets and shooting stuff to progress.

Up, Down, Left, Right and FIRE!

                      - 2D one-on-one fighters, they've overcomplicated them so much that unless you've followed the series for yonks they're impenetrable.
                      - Music/rhythm games
                      - 2D shooters where there's too much stuff on screen (controversial maybe!), I just don't find them enjoyable to play and to be honest I find them lacking in imagination - if you ask me the best shooter ever was Carrier Airwing!
                      - Online RPGs, they always look so charmless and dated!!

I was going to put FPS but to be honest I have enjoyed some FPS games but a lot of them are pretty stale! The best ever was Vietcong (PC version).

i don't 'avoid' any particular genre but the one i've almost completely failed to get any enjoyment from is rpgs... the only proper turn based stats rpg i've enjoyed was skies of arcadia as the characters were likeable.

I avoid war games, a consequence of when they used to be nowt but crap, it's really stuck with me and I can't bring myself to purchase anything that looks war-y. It was even with great reluctance that I purchased Rainbow Six, as the theme carried the same vibe.

It gives me goosebumps just thinking about playing one! And if I forget to keep my toenails short, my family may die.

I'll try to give most things a shot, however...

FPSs (console) tend to give me bad motion-sickness, but not all of them, so if possible I'll try to play them.
2d shooters - My hands & brain just aren't fast enough.
Rpg's - I really, really want to like these, but I always fail miserably. So I've given up trying.
