US Wii: Preorder Details Thread

Just received a purchase receipt from VG+! Here's hoping a DHL ref comes through so I can spend tomorrow reading names of airports!

Curious, VG+ are sending my unit out tomorrow or Wednesday. I think I only just managed to squeeze a console at all.
Are VG+ getting restock or something tomorrow, or can they only send out so many per day?

Ok guys heres the deal.

I just called Import Madness and had a very nice talk to a man called Derek (I think) who was very helpful. I told him I was enquiring about my order and about the allocation.

What he says was:
They have just got theirs sent to them today from their supplier and they should be recieving them in the next few days (we already knew this)

He said that he cant promise anything but any orders up til last Friday should be good (as long as their stock isnt cut). he says that any that are sent out this week should be recieved by Monday.

They are fed-exing them all to the UK and as soon as they arrive, they will be sending out every persons Wii via Amtrack ( i think its called) for next day delivery)

He also said anyone else ordering it could be up to two weeks as they are confident to be getting more within that time as well.

He said by all means to get people to contact him if they have any queries and seemed a top guy. He was joking around saying (the other phone in the background was ringing) "Watch that be another customer going to slate me on teh forums cause I didnt answer the phone." LOL.

Just got one off ebay, 280 quid with zelda and a classic controller and 1-3 day UPS. There are absolutely shed loads off them on ebay, i just couldn't resist. Hopefully have it this week

i think thats the most precise information ive ever gotten from ordering a console telling me everyd etail thats going to happen.

i think they are trying to build up tehir services again after the hitches the last 2 years with consoles.

i even called up and left a msg on sunday and he even called back like 2 minutes ago to reply to my enquiry.

good servicei shall say. might start using them again for games if i get my wii without a hitch.

if i do... tehy deserve to have a bit more of my money LOL.

yeah dude, he said they are paying the import duties to FedEx when they send them all to the UK.

cause fedex invoice you back after delivering it (as far as i remember from something i ordered ages ago) so the bill for it will go to ImportMadness.

then we get amtrack couriers delivering them next day!! even if you paid for standard shipping. so i kinda got jipped paying fed ex one lol.

I've got an order in with Import Madness, and I must admit that I was getting worried with the horror stories that have been linked to on here. I tried calling a couple of times to no avail, which didn't help matters.

However, the same guy elaniel mentioned just called me at home, saying that he'd noticed my number on his missed calls. He gave me much the same story; no guarantees, but he's hoping to be able to ship most pre-orders by the end of the week. He also said we should get tracking numbers as they're shipped. Now, I'm not saying the service is perfect (I emailed last week with no reply), but I was pleasantly surprised that the guy took the time to call me back and explain the situation. He seemed on the level to me, so it's a case of sitting tight and seeing what happens. I'm happy enough to do that for a couple of weeks.

seemes completely on the same level with us rather than just filling us with a bs story like a normal sales rep would.

i feel a lot more confident with IM now than over the weekend when i didnt know what was going on.

I just phoned them too, he said they had 36 pre-orders and that i was 31st in the queue.

What i didn't get was that he said i might not get my system for 2 weeks, yet he said that they're supposed to be getting 50 consoles? WTF.

Also said that zelda is in plentiful supply, so no worry on that! I'm just going to keep my order even if it is 2 weeks, still before PAL!

yeah... they're supposed to be getting enough to fulfill demand they've had. but if their supply is cut... u might have to wait a week or so is what he meant.
