UK Wii pre-orders Thread

I just got in from work, our store has 99 Wii's which is for all 99 first wave pre orders, we have about 90 copies of Zelda, about 50 Wii Play, 40 nun chucks, and about 40 ish of the rest of the main titles so don't think the software shortage is going to be as big a problem as first anticipated.

Word of warning for people with GameStation pre orders, the Halifax branch has 30 machines, and they had 120 launch day pre orders and they're apparantly going on a first come first served (with pre order) system. Can't say if it's 100% true, but quite a few people have said that today (not from GAME). Dunno if it'll be like that at other stores tho.

BTW, did anyone else get a play on Wii with the Nintendo honeyz today at Game? I just poppped in to check the availability of Zelda tomorrow, and was collared (in the nicest possible way) by a couple of Tendo babes asking if I wanted to play a bit of Wii Tennis. My first hands-on, (Wii, not Honeyz), and I can safely say all the hype is spot on - it was fantastic.

Not lived in Sittingbourne kent for much, but any stores open for 12pm launch here?

Don't know area much so dont know stores.

Dont think any tescos or asdas 24 hours are around here.

Not sure bout Sittingbourne, but im from Maidstone and we have GAME open at 12am.

GAME in Ashford is open at 7.30am and Gamestation 12am!

They ain't out til the 15th :P Gutted tbh. Well, GAME ain't getting em til then, apparantly GameStation etc have been stocking them.

I was just going to PM you and tell you! Was it Castle Lane per chance? I was told by a nice old man in the queue at Poole GameStation that they had about 50 but had kept it really quiet to avoid having people loitering around the shop. Yeah, right - like they could stop Teh Nintendo Madness

Picked mine up from Gamestation.

No Wii Play or RGB cables (that's as good as it gets on my TV) so I just picked up Zelda. I wasn't even planning to go to the midnight opening.

Wii Play's **** anyway apparently, so it's doubtful you're missing much.

it's the only way to get a second controller though isn't it (we didn't get any loose controllers anyway)? It's not **** at all from what I've read, it's just nothing amazing, but for ?5 what do you expect apparantly Pool alone is worth the price tag though? Apparantly it's just another introduction to the controller showing the potential it all has in the future.

Well in the end i got everything i wanted, including a component cable Off to bed for now, and then time to get started with Zelda in the morning.
