Praise the lord, got my text message through from Woolworths about twenty minutes ago, went straight down there & picked up the console along with Wii Play, a Classic Controller & Zelda. Even at almost three o'clock I was the first person to buy anything Wii related in there, country villages ftw. Think I was the only one with a pre-order too!

They had plenty of stock of all the games, Wii Play with Wiimote, Classic Controllers, Nunchuks & pretty much everything. Bet its all there for ages, no one here has even heard of the blooming console!!

Received my Wii, Classic Controller, Zelda & Wii Play just before lunch......before I can even get any of the stuff unpacked my Wife calls to tell me that while she'd been driving to work our car's steering felt all over the place so we (i.e. me) need to get it looked at. Funninly enough it's only 'our' car when any maintenance or washing is required.

It's all gonna have to stay boxed up over the weekend now 'til I can get the car into the garage & find out how much the damage'll be. Funds really won't stretch to cover the cost of a console & Xmas a hefty repair bill all in the same month so I'm seriously crossing my fingers.....the Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away

What happened with Amazon,,

I was sitting from 2.50pm,, poised and awaiting,,, then it just all slowed down and b4 you could say Wii,, they flippin sold out..

No component cable, but that's not so much of a shock.

Downloading the update is proving a bit slow though.

How can Gameplay have got their pre-order information Sooooo wrong?

Last week I was emailed to tell me I would have my Wii today...

Then I received an email telling me I wouldn't...

They told me on the phone it would ship out friday or monday but would have it within the week...

Then this morning it said online it would be after the 22nd December.

Now it says Awaiting Stock from Nintendo...

What are they playing at?!?!?!?

Just been out to see if I could pick up any accessories, went to Meadowhall in Sheffield:

Meadowhall Retail Park:
PC World - Didn't have anything at all (The two staff I asked if they had anything didn't even know what I was talking about and kept directing me to DS stuff!!)
Toys R U - Lots of nunchucks, classic controllers, lots of some games (but no Monkey Ball, which is what I was after).

Meadowhall itself:
- Game - Shelves were lined with games, but they weren't selling any to anyone who hadn't pre-ordered a console with them (!)
- EB (?) The other game shop across from Game: Games and controllers
- HMV - Games only, no accessories (Got Monkey Ball from here, had to wait ages because the staff had no idea where the Wii games were stored!)
- WH Smith - Nothing at all
- Currys - Nothing at all


No component cables anywhere. :-/



P.S. - Anyone got any idea where to pick up a Wavebird from?

Gamestation normally have second hand wavebirds in for about ?20

Update was really quick on mine - probably 3 to 4 minutes - I'd read it was like 10-12 dunno what that's about - I'm on a 10mb line right enough.

No, you do to use the News or Weather Channels but they're not working anyway.
