SF2 Special Champion Edition on the Megadrive. I really can't say how long I spent playing that game. In fact, it scares me to think about it.

Champ/Football Manager has an all consuming quality that makes it take it over your brain and allow no other thoughts until you have signed that player/ changed that formation/ slagged that manager off etc.

My multiplayer addictive votes go for Mario Kart on the SNES and Goldeneye, the amount of hours spent on those must run well into the hundreds. Sheer multiplayer perfection.

For multiplayer addictivness, my only expericences are with the dreamcast, taking in turns with Crazy taxi, endless sword fights in Soul Calibur, but mainly nights with no sleep and endless coffee and beer runs while playing Powerstone with three others; winner stays on. My sister got real pissed at us, being that her Husband was one of the three others.

StreetFighterZero3 on the Saturn and CapcomVs.SNK2 on DreamCast, been playing both of them almost every day, ever since they came out for home systems.

Tempest 2000/X3 just can't stop playing that game, even after all those years I still play it (once in a while)

and Forza, as soon as I switch it on, I can't stop playing

              Amen to that. Twice.

Infact, I'm 100% sure I've spent more time on this game (across the formats) then any other.

Disgaea, PSO, World of Warcraft and Street Fighter II.

If it wasn't for these four games, I'd probably be a millionaire living in luxury by now.

If you are talking about games that grip you, make you want to perfect them, sort of games where you would rather quit and start again rather than blemish your progress/score?

                  Everybody's Golf
                  Volfied
                  California Games
                  Bubble Bobble
                  Trauma Centre

Although there's many games I've been addicted to over the years, the one that comes to mind is panel de pon which I've been playing in its various incarnations for many years now. Most recently the four player Gamecube version which I have to avoid because I know if we kick off with it then we won't stop for many, many hours.

Disgaea and Disgaea 2 To me is the closest gaming can come to being a narcotic. Its the metaphorical gaming equilavent of heroin.

I've also plied lots of hours into Super robot taisen aswell, so that must have some kind of a narcotic like grip over me aswell.

If you're replying to my post, then no - it's a simple puzzle game that's come under various different names such as Pokemon puzzle league, Tetris attack etc. As with all good puzzle games, the premise is simple - you have six columns of blocks which you can manipulate by moving a cursor around and swapping two blocks horizontally. If you make a row or column of three or more they are eliminated. However, the real bonuses come in when the gap created by the eliminated blocks is filled in and creates another row or column - each time you do this time effectively stops and the bigger the combo, and in multiplayer the bigger a block is placed on your opponent's screen. The funny part is that the sound effects change for each part of the combo, so you can tell when someone is pulling off a really vicious combo and start frantically trying to clear your screen.

Disgaea, PSO, Lumines, Guilty Gear, and tony hawks games would have to rank highly in my book.
Lumines live at the mo though.
