Edit: Im using a US Wii, could that have something to do with it?
On the main Wii menu screen, in the bottom left corner will be a Wii icon. In there, go to Wii Settings, then Screen, then TV Resolution.
    Choose 'EDTV or HDTV (480p).
While your there, go to Widescreen Settings and choose 'Widescreen (16:9)' if you've not done already.

This will automatically enable 480p on all Wii and Gamecube games that support it.

I can see obvious horizontal lines on my sammy 26" LCD (the one everyone brought for the 360 last year:P) where I presume the TV is upscaling the 480p lines into 768 (or however many, I forget now) lines that the TV has.

Id be interested to see if anyone else is having this problem with Samsung Panels.
I'm getting the exact same problem on my Sammy 23" LCD, doesn't seem to change regardless of what screen settings I have it on.

          Anyone have any ideas?

The difference between 480i, 480p and 576i is really going to be incremental.
The reason 480p is seen as the next messiah or something is because a lot of LCD's just don't handle 480i very well.
That was how it was for me in 2004 - I think the whole LCD WEGA range handled 480i horribly, with ridiciulous blurring. When I saw Trauma Center on the Wii on my new BRAVIA (which doesn't have the problem) I was surprised at how good it could look.

I think when it's done properly, the difference before 480i and p on an LCD should be a fairly small amount of vertical resolution and no interlacing artefacts.

I'm using a Sammy 23" too but not had that problem (model no. LE23R41B with an official component lead).

Other than changing my Wii's video settings to 480p I haven't done anything else other than adjust the tv's brightness/ contrast settings (just for personal taste not to elimate any problem).

Yeah that's the exact same model as me, but i'm using the Gameplay component rather than the official Nintendo one. At the moment i've only tried Wii Sports and, to be honest, it looks crap now, i'm getting the horizontal lines across the screens when you choose which game you want, and basically the picture isn't very good in game either.

I'll have a play with some settings and see if it gets any better.

I had the same issue, I can recommend Maplin who have a good range of sensibly priced phone extension cables, sorted me out a treat for about ?3.

So can anyone tell me which cable is available to buy and which web site in UK. I don't want to pay ebay price or expensive oversea price. I don't want Mad Catz one.

                          I am sick of this.
