Don't get me wrong, I'm not expected anything like 360 visuals, but the change from playing something like Viva Pinata in HD to playing Zelda on the Wii was a shock to me. I just didn't expect the difference to be that huge. Maybe I expected more having been a big fan of Resi on the Cube.
I agree, programmers have to take the DS route and concentrate on the gameplay first and foremost.

And before you guys even try to use "you haven't played with other next gens consoles with HD-television" card, I'm avid PC-player and know pretty well how nice latest games look.

Sharp, crisp and clear - although it does have a few jaggies - i'll post some pics, via my dodgy N73 camera!

im desperate for one, the stores near me don't have a friggen clue what im asking for. phoned up game today, saying they dont know when they are coming out and all they have had so far is the controllers. same goes with gamestation, but they just fobbed me off on the phone. one guy didn't sound like he had a clue, he sounded incredibly nervous on the phone and went eerrrrm...no.

I was lucky enough to get my official japanese wii component cable this morning, ?13 from yes-asia. the quality is excellent, zelda looks so much crisper now. the virtual console games all work on my NTSC-US Wii in 480p even though some reports indicated this could be a problem, mario 64 was much improved, sonic showed up the pixelation present in the original megadrive game, the blurryness is GONE!

Well... the menu's have lost the hazey type effect and are quite crisp. Zelda looks almost exactly the same though. You notice a slightly higher level of clarity now and then and some of the smaller text is nicer but across the board its very similar. This is on a 32" LCD LG ( this was at night in Kakariko village )
Now I just started a new game as I knew it started in a sunny area and now it really does show to be a lot more crisp. As many have said, yes, it does highlight more jaggies but it looks a lot more vibrant and isn't all 'soft' and out of focus.
Rear projection tv's are an entirely different kettle of fish to LCD panel tv's so advising it's fine on a rear projection doesn't really help the situation.
On the whole. As pleased as I could be really. I wasn't expecting to have a mind blowing change so i'm happy.
