Email them and they'll let you cancel it. Same thing happened to a lot of people, this 'preparing' status doesn't actually mean they're preparing anything, it means you're in for a loooong wait.

Yay I got my official component cable today.

I love how the box is bigger than the Wii itself. Massive.

First of all, you have all rights to have different opinion than me. That's perfectly fine. But I have also right to disagree, and it's rather easy to sound aggressive when your arguments are what they are, and you being melodramatic. You played about two percent of game, playing easily most ugliest area in the game and you were already proclaiming how both the game and the console had terrible graphics. That is same that I would read first ten pages of The Godfather and said it had ****ty plot. Is this how reasonable or smart human being would judge things? Not at all. It's actually "beyond belief" that you draw so hasty conclusions and then complain how someone is "aggressive" when he disagrees with you.

You were proclaiming how Nintendo also did "huge mistake" when they released Twilight Princess to Wii. You are telling how it should be graphically different from Gamecube version even though Nintendo specifically promised that it wouldn't be. Everybody knew there wouldn't be any major changes (except for controls) and everybody knew they would be graphic-wise identical. In my opinion it's rather unreasonable to except game to be something else than it was promised to be, especially when Nintendo has been so open about how game will look.

But what really annoyed me most is how you were saying that Wii has no chance of doing nice looking realistic games because of one single game. You were practically dismissing the fact that we did have many rather pleasant looking "realistic" games in last generation, that were made with only half of Wii's power. Of course they don't have today's hottest buzzwords like bump mapping, normal mapping and HDR, but they still look pretty good. It's not like those games turned into **** when new generation came to market. It's really the graphic whores who believe like this, and by how you have presented your own opinions, you perfectly fell into that category.

And yes, this is my last post about this, because we are starting to derail thread too much.

Just ordered a Gameplay own brand as well just in case, I must have about 5 on order from different places and have received a total of zero of them so far !
My otaku.com cable turned up yesterday, though I was out and the postie left a card. Picked it up this morning and will see how much improvement I get on the picture tonight...

Are you on drugs? As for realism, I don't recall too many games on the GC taking this approach, so I'd say it is pretty doubtful to expect anything like this on the Wii.

With "realism" I meant "anything else than huge heads and cutesy pastel colors". And with last-gen, meant each console, not just Gamecube. But yeah, Resident Evil 4 is, for one example, title that could be considered having realistic look. F-Zero GX could be another if we stretch little bit. And what comes to Wii, even Nintendo has two titles on first year that could be considered "semi-realistic"; Disaster: Day of Crisis and Project H.A.M.M.E.R..

How does Zelda look on those Sony Bravia's? SD content is ok on the Sammy HDTV (the one that everyone owns including me) but it's dead grainy/pixelated!

Zelda looks very good as you see from the picture I posted. I could quite happily play it just using composites cables.

I had a Sammy HD, it was great for HD but Bravia is in a different league when it comes to SD. I only have the 26" Sony Bravia, the 32" has a even better screen.
