Wii and PS3 - Why So Many Resells ?

The price is going down due to the fact people are only a few weeks from being able to buy a PAL console. They have waited this long, why would they suddenly pay over the odds now?
Doesn't take a rocket science to work that one out,duh!

Errrrrrrrrm your not making sense on NTSC nobody is allowed to sell products over the RRP. So your arguement doesnt make sense as anybody buying off here wouldnt be paying over the odds.

On the subject of exclusives they've (Sony) already fallen from pole position right to the back seemingly in an instant.

MS have this PC/360 thing going on now so you'll see a lot of games that are for those 2 platforms exclusively I'd hazard (See Alan Wake / Halo 2)

I think it's all down to content. XBL Marketplace always had demos and trickles of new arcade games which will keep the interest up even if the release schedule is thin. The PS3 doesn't have the same availability of new stuff to pique the interest at the moment. Wiis are getting sold because there's the usual slow output and loads of people wanted to try them out and it was "cheap" enough to take a gamble on.

As the PS1 and PS2 proved, whichever platform has the most content will be less likely to be sold. I'm still buying PS2 and DC games....

I ain't complaining, I cashed in on the whole reselling thing....well actually it was a trade. Got rid of my Wii for a PS3 and I can say I played the PS3 more in 2 days than the whole time I had my Wii. I will pick up a Wii again, but when it has better games and supports online play, for me online play is a must!

Done a search and there have been 20 PS3's sold on the trade forum since launch!
Sellers :- Goldsmith, Firefox35, Cartman, Hunterludi, TSJ, Zero9x, G-Funk, Zero boo, Fishbowlhead, Enigmatic1, Keith, Blazingstar, Themanwithapc, Uzion, Shou, Soulja, Gizze, Daddyorchips, Duk and finally Ince.

This is hardly a massive sell on rate. I would have done a 360 comparison but the search facility does not go back far enough.

You are allowed to sell over retail price as long as it is not released in the UK if I remember correctly, so my point stands.

20 in a month or so FSF - If you could count the number of 360's over the last 15 months it's been out I don't think you'd have the same % I really don't.

Do it for the wii - it's been out roughly as long ! (ah but it's in the thread title now hehe)

I really don't think Yoshi was baiting anyone. It was just an observation that I think many of us share if we're honest.
