Wii and PS3 - Why So Many Resells ?

We are seeing more games going multi platform and less games going exclusive this gen.

This is precisely why I shifted my 360. I decided that I couldn't support three consoles (Time investment, rather than money) so either the 360 had to go or I'd have to forego a PS3. The Sony first party stuff swings it for me.

But to each their own. You only have to have looked at eBay any time over the last 14 months or so to know that there's plenty of 360s being sold on too.

Done a search and there have been 20 PS3's sold on the trade forum since launch!
Sellers :- Goldsmith, Firefox35, Cartman, Hunterludi, TSJ, Zero9x, G-Funk, Zero boo, Fishbowlhead, Enigmatic1, Keith, Blazingstar, Themanwithapc, Uzion, Shou, Soulja, Gizze, Daddyorchips, Duk and finally Ince.

Considering there are only 1.3 million consoles worldwide as opposed to 4.4 million Wiis, shouldn't we be expecting approx 80 Wiis being sold for the same %? :P

People always shift consoles early on though, if your not happy with it and decide you'd rather wait for more releases or whatever, you're better getting shot sooner rather than later as the price only goes down really. There won't be a hardware price cut for at least 12 months, but there'd definately be bundles before then which keep the same price for the hardware, but improve the (perceived) value of what you are purchasing.

The Xbox 360 hasn't had an official price drop, but if bundling Project Gotham Racing 3, Viva Pinata and an extra wireless pad free of charge wasn't as good as a £100 price drop before xmas, I don't know what is. Jus works better for Microsoft that way as to punters, the value is like £45 for Viva Pinata, £45 for PGR3 and £33 for the wireless pad, yet to Microsoft its what? £20 worth of stuff tops?

Not sure you can put it down to early adopter problems - ie. lack of games. The PS3 will get a lot of multi-platform titles this year. Probably not many exclusives, but if PS3 is your only next-gen system that should be an issue.

I'm curious what 360 exclusives are this year, that have the same quality of DMC4 and MGS4? (bar of course Halo 3)

EDIT: I'd like to add I'm loving my PS3, although like many here im awaiting the games.

360 hasnt been that great to me, didnt like DR and I havent really gotten into Lost Planet yet (hence as posted in the VF5 thread, I thought I was getting bored), Oblivion was a boring slog for me too, granted Gears was fun - but ever since I stopped playing the game I kept picking holes in it...

if thats the case then fair enough - but none of those other titles are anywhere near MGS/DMC quality, and Bioshock is PS3 bound...

I used to like it when folks used the IMO quote in sentences like that. Who are you to judge what others consider to be a quality title ? I'd buy all four of those before MGS4 tbh, now a movie is coming out whats the point in buying the game
