A bump from the dead for this thread!

Anyone seen a PAL copy of GDF in the UK? It's mine & my brothers birthday next weekend and he likes the game, but can't play imports on his PS2. Where can I pick one up?

Also, anyone got any new Simple 2000 games? Just picked up Tousou! Kenka Grand Prix: Drive to Survive(Mashed) & Super Puzzle Bobble DX(Super Puzzle Bobble 1 & 2) for under a tenner shipped

29 down, 136 to go!!!

Keep it up! ^_<
As said in this thread it seems like it has been pushed back (September, if at all).

You could get your bro Darwin instead, it's one of the best Simple 2000 games, and finally playable for non-japanese speakers.

-.-
Man that sucks. May try and persuade my brother to get his PS2 chipped now.

The thing is, EDF on 360 seems to be really popular, my local indie has had to restock it 3 or 4 times now due to demand, so why mess up the PS2 release?

£24.99 over here, but $14.99 in the States. Work that out...

lol, it's an Irem game hactually. Still, it's a budget release, so may as well stay in here.

This isn't a simple series game, is it? But very interesting title nonetheless and 505 are known for their excellent PAL conversions (60Hz option).
But you're right, 25 quids sounds like a bad joke.

No, it's the western release of Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2.

Just in case anyone hasn't seen it, Chikyuu Boueigun 2 & Tactics are both out on Friday in the UK. The games have shipped to stores, so the release is definite!

Wow, awesome news^^
So EDF2 is finally comming out here, I think I won't resist and will get both of them. The tactics one isn't bad and Id get more out of it, now that all the menus and manual are in english.

There's another game comming out on Friday, called "Special Forces" (Simple 2000 Vol. 108 in japan), looks pretty interesting, I'm thinking about getting this one too.

There's also a vid of the japanese version on youtube:

Had that ages. I think I got it when it was $10 in the p-a sale. Not the greatest, but I've played worse!

Before I order, can someone please tell me the difference between Global Defence Force and Global Defence Force Tactics please?

EDIT: Never mind, sorted now. I see that Tactics is exactly that, a tactics game. A quite primitive looking tactics game at that.

Can anyone give me a list of really special "Must Haves" from the series.

I like simple, addictive games. Not anything tactical, just arcade style, or simple to play.

Cheers!

Monster Attack and Global Defence Force (aka EDF1 & 2) should be high up on your list.

After that I'd say take a look at Zombie Zone or Zombie Hunters (aka Oneechanbara and Oneechamploo). The latter one is only an updated version, but afaik Zombie Hunters doesn't have a 60Hz option in comparison to Zombie Zone.
Of course, if you're able to play japanese games, you should get Vol. 101 - The Oneechanpon instead. The language barrier isn't high in those games.

Could anyone point me to an online shop that sells the new Essential Games releases (Global Defence Force & Tactics and Special Forces), ships to europe and accepts paypal?

Amazon and Playcom seem to require a credit card and I haven't found an ebay seller that has more than one of those games.

You can always try Gamestation and Virgin or HMV. They usually seem to have the PAL Simple ports in and usually under a tenner
