I've really gone off the idea of the pre-order characters now.

The only time you'll see other people's characters is during multi player games and it has to be more interesting playing if all 4 people have custom characters instead of people using the pre-set characters like Nariko and Kratos.

It's soon going to get boring playing games with 3 other Narikos running around.

Rumours from PAX (Via GAF) that this is going to have official Disney DLC. I'm not sure yet whether that's good or bad - hopefully they use some of the better Disney characters/sets.

It's the scale more than anything. The thermometer on the left indicates how full the level is (Obviously there has to be some limitation) - just shows that you'll be able to create enormous levels full of physics/moving objects without hitting the cap.

I really like the fire & ice in the above video. They said in a recent interview that water would be downloadable after launch too which is going to add a lot to the game.

While this, with Gears2, is my most anticipated game of the year, I can see some people not "getting" it. We've seen here a few people who have played it not being impressed. There's such hype and expectation, I think people are forgetting that, at least in the first instance, it's a platformer. And it may seem quite simplistic and boring in that aspect (I don't know, I've not played it ).

Once you look at the creation tools and the wealth of possibilities though, this is nothing short of stunning. The thing is, will the average potential consumer look at it in that way? 2D platform titles that don't contain the name "Mario" are a tough sell.

Bit harsh. Would be like saying what else is due out on the 360 really apart from Gears 2?!

I agree that LBP won't capture the imagination of some people, as Chain said they just won't get it. Their loss though I suppose.

Agree about the harshness. Looking forward to Socom, Resistance 2 and GTI Club+ off the top of me head.

I'm not really convinced it will be that big but I think a big part of that will be down to the quality of the marketing with this game. If it takes downloadable Disney characters and that sort of stuff to get people to buy it then I'd really like to see more downloads like that for the game.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see other franchises make an appearance in it when they have games close to release. How much would it cost a company like 2K Games to release a Bioshock themed Sackboy? A few quid? I'd almost put money on there being a Sackboy appearance in Rag Doll Kung-Fu.

I've got the horrible feeling that if the game does take off then Sony may well try to push Sackboy as some sort of mascot. We can't be that far away from a LBP PSP game & Saturday morning cartoon?

It's disappointing to see that the bundle doesn't use a custom PS3 along the lines of the bundle case.
