Isn't a demo a demonstration of the final game rather than a public test of some sort?

Yeah but it's still a demo and that's what people look at it as. No-one cares if it's there to test the servers, they are being given a demonstration of what the game does.

So when were betas stopped then? As far as I was aware all games still go through that stage?

Surely the fact that when you agreed to test the servers you were aware that you were testing the servers? That's what people have agreed to do and that's what people have done.

I don't understand how it's so complicated to be honest. The agreement for this was very clear about what it was and you may well not like like what the beta was but you knew what it was when you agreed to test it and now you complain because it was what you already knew it was.

If you don't like it I'm happy with that but don't criticise a beta for being a beta. It's there to do a job and hopefully MM will get all the data they need over the next couple of weeks before it closes.

I don't really feel the need to say any more about it as this sums it up perfectly!

I don't get why your making a big deal about this John. Sure it's a Beta, but can't a Beta be judged at all? I haven't mentioned anything about the servers or agreements when signing up to Betas. Just simply saying, this game hasn't impressed me too much. So while that is the case, I'm not gonna hammer through it and 'test' it for sever performance as I'm not really a proper tester am I, since MM aren't paying me to do this. If they were, I'd gladly test it for them. But they're not. And since I'm not enjoying the game. I'm not gonna keep playing it through to test they servers.

I just phoned the subscription number & said I wanted the plush & was told "You'll be lucky!"*

It's for the first fifty subs as of this morning - they're obviously not going to tell you they're all gone, because then you definitely won't have subscribed.

I took a chance that they'd open at eight this morning so was on the phone pretty much straight away - I'd been thinking about subscribing anyway so it's not really a problem for me either way. Remember, you can always cancel after the first three months anyway.
