Im getting it probably tommorow (should have come yesterday but its delayed in post) so thats got nothing to do with it it never was. I knew already about the 1week delay 4 hours before it broke but at the time was trying to dig out the reason why so decided to import it so job was done and dusted and it sent way before I found the news on this (I did some digging on PSN and found the post).

For me it was its the way they have gone about it what irritates me it just needed a patch done quietly. They didnt even check with the muslim community first and get their opinion on it and I actually feel that creates negative pulibicity towards muslims which i disagree with strongly.

It started out via a post on PSN USA network forums from a muslim that had played it and brought it to the attention and then a mod closed it nobody else. It all started basically from a forum post.

I personally would rather Sony have asked the muslim community for their response on this instead of creating some knee jerk reaction over it.

Regarding RFOM and my post earlier. That was a place of worship a cathederal for crying out loud and you no what nobody gave a toss. Their was a backlash from the church and it didnt get pulled and redone with it missing due to sensitive issues na we all sat back and said blow aliens all to hell. The argument not to recall on RFOM being too much to just patch is bollox if it upsets a religion. And this is whats bugged me with LBP. Its a 2yr old song that never got banned and is considered perfectly acceptable. They havent asked anyone in the muslim community for guidance on it they panicked and recalled it. To me that created negativity for no reason.

I just think religion shouldnt be in games. Their a media for fun and relaxation not preaching crap. I honestly dont know why the all never got together one day and made a template fake religion they could all use (or a few for figthing over) and then problem solved no offence to anyone.

The saddest part is its a beautifull looking/playing game the whole family can enjoy and at the moment thats been lost.

Peace to everyone whoever you are
    fair enough mate points taken

Hmm I dunno m8. Before the actual reason why it got delayed the email sent direct from Sony to retailers first thing Friday said 31st plastered all over it and one more week to get preorders in as the slogan. Its still due in week of 27th in USA which is a very quick turn around of 1week (as its due out originally 22nd) so it is possible that its 31st October and Sony knew about the issues while we where asleep in UK Friday and sent the emails out in preparation.

I personally think if its not out on 31st it wont come out till 14th as they just wont go up against GOW2.

Ive decided to be kind anyway. Friend is desperate for it as its his sons birthday on 24th day it was due to come out so when mine comes in the all being well moring im sending him it at same price it cost me. Even though I could make double on ebay (which I wouldnt) or play it Id rather do this instead

A patch was the safest option, or they could have just given the whole affair the RFOM treatment, especially as the song itself was licensed (AFAIK) from another artist and therefore the game itself was only trying to mimic its original source. Nothing wrong with it, and over 95% of the people that play this game probably wouldn't have noticed it either.
No, honestly, recalling the disks is the safest option. The fuss of gamers getting offended over a week's delay will blow over, but if they left it on the disks it would have hit the tabloids and so on. If they left the content on the disk there would always be someone who made a point of unplugging their PS3 from the network and getting offended over it. Recalling the game is absolutely the most politically correct solution.

Outrage is defined, generally speaking, as anger, rage, frustration, not uncommonly found side by side with abuse and vilification.

Religious outrage on this thread, you say.

Not a single Muslim member of this board has shown any outrage. Or rage. Or anger. There has been no 'religious outrage'.
I meant my words very casually - perhaps I should rephrase:

I'm really enjoying the kerfuffle in this thread over these religious and social issues.

I dont find that very nice its an awful awful term for Cerebral Palsy friend got riducled with it for years thank f it aint used anymore Its an awful term for disabled to call em that and I personally f hate it with a passion. Plenty of us in the chairs have been called this loads and of course spaz. Im glad it got removed theirs no reason to have it in UK its a taboo word. Yea their was alot of outrage from disabled people m8 its not a good phrase to use lol

USA its totally different dont mean anything bad to them its just a phrase hence the reason it slipped thru.

Not from what I recall; mentally disabled people's feelings are of a lower on the ProfitOMeter when compared to those of a religious group.

It always surprised me how people in the US throw the word around.

I'm sorry but I hate this sort of thinking. "It's just a game" Yes- it is. That's why I'm on this forum, talking about them. Can I wait an extra week? Yes. Should I have to? No.

It's sad that a term for someone with a physical disability (spastic) is so misunderstood that it now means someone who is retarded. But it's now such a part of colloquial lingo that it doesn't seem to matter. Much like people referring to something as "gay" when all they mean is that it's rubbish rather than insulting gays. I've even had people take offence when I refer to a game as being the Jap version. But no one takes offence when I talk about Brits. Weird stuff eh?

Impressive thread by the way. Even though there have been some rather exciteable posts, no one has taken any of it to fisticuffs. Long may it continue.

No, not weird stuff at all when you take into account the severely racist portrayal of the 'Japs' during WW2 and how people of Japanese origin were treated in countries like the US at that time. To ignore such a historical context, even now, would seem to me to be disrespectful. When the term 'Brits' is synonymous with getting pulled out of your own house and thrown into an internment camp while the media portrays you as a broken-down racist stereotype, yeah, then maybe you could call it a double standard.

And, as for the use of the word 'spastic', of course it's offensive, even if it's not always intended to be. Recalling those games was not ridiculous, in my opinion. What was ridiculous was the lack of sensitivity in throwing the term around in the first place.

Usually I'll use JAP like USA or PAL to describe games, but I avoid using Jap to describe Japanese people themselves
