Google tells me that Nintendo is handled in Portugal by Concentra.
There is even a petition to have their license revoked:

      They must REALLY suck!

I went out to buy a Wii yesterday, was told I could "preorder" one..

Retailers should be putting pressure on NoE to provide adequate quantities of their product - it's just cheap enough to be an impulse buy, and I can't help but think this is affecting them. Shop staff weren't bothered a bit, which peed me off, tbh. Not gonna bother getting one now for a few months/until Prime hits.

Will you even be able to get one then in a normal shop? The supply situation, considering how long the Wii has been on sale, is getting ridiculous, even by post-launch standards (let's face it we're well past that stage now). Seems to be just as constrained in the US from what I read/hear.

To be fair on Nintendo, I don't think the demand for a console has ever been so strong before. They are literally getting zapped off the shelves the second they respawn

It's pretty much the same with the DS in Japan ATM. The DS Lite is so hard to get hold of that many retailers are importing machines back into Japan from the US. Up until recently they would even buy back pre-owned DS Lites at more than their original retail price (not much more, mind). It seems that no matter how many DS or Wiis Nintendo could make, it would never be enough.

I thought the thing about the Wii was that Nintendo made everything so there was no way they could blame shortages on other suppliers. It is very strange though. Is the Wii honestly selling huge amounts here or are the retailers just not getting many units in each delivery?

Is this an UK problem? Got mine a month ago, my brother got his last week, both without problems

It's an everywhere problem, although I suppose the problem will be worse in areas with high demand like the UK and USA.

They DO suck. Basically a decades-old company who refused to grow up and adequate its business to a developing market.

I say, let them go down in flames!

Wow! So many games to pre-order! Oh, hang on a minute, that's surely not right is it? A friend commented the other day that there was nothing to play on the Wii since completing Zelda/Sports. I told him about Wario Ware. But what will he do in two weeks time? I'm almost considering a 360 but don't feel the passion for any of the titles yet. My non-HD ready tv also puts not pressure on joining the next-NG yet either. My wife said something about ?1000 tv = holiday abroad. I have to agree with that actually

It is terrible that the Wii just isn't about. I've seen them selling on eBay for profit! This long after launch?! Oh dear, Nintendo are losing soooo much ground this time around and not because of consumer apathy either. Wonder what there comment on the situation is. Wish Edge would ask.

If it's any help, my wife doesn't really like games and technology and when I said I'd be getting a new 42" HD plasma, her face said it all. But once it was up on the wall and we were sat watching Battlestar Galactica, she said "I like our new TV". Made my day.

i must say i assumed with nintendo using cheaper parts they would have been able to keep up with demand far better

somebody told me though that unlike sony or microsoft they dont have actual manufacturing facilitys of there own they have to use other companys and thats why stock is short......is that true ?
