If I bought a PS3 today, what games would you recommend?

Consider that I'm a 360 owner and it's my primary console.

What games are out there that are really top quality at the moment, and further to that, what exclusive titles are on the way or on the horizon?

Basically : Would it, in your opinion, be worth getting one?

    Cheers

The latest release Schedule covering up to June wasn't too rosey tbh, Calling all Cars and Ninja Gaiden Sigma were the only stand outs. Cursed Summer Drought

Well, to get one I'd be trading in my Wii. Is it looking any better than the Wii release schedule?

I'd consider myself in a similar position to yourself Jebus... 360 as main console, and with a white elephant of a Wii. Took the plunge a few weeks back and picked up a PS3 though and I have to say I haven't suffered the slightest bit of buyers regret. It sits proudly (and quietly) next to my 360 and gets the odd bit of gaming now and then. 360's still the daddy though in my house.

As for games that I'd recommend, I only have the two - Motorstorm and Resistance and wouldn't hesitate to recommend either of them to you! There's plenty of demos on the shop to download though, so you should find one for you.

Suffering the usual post-console release draught at the moment. No doubt start picking up soon enough. Plus there seems to be a fair bit of offers around on games at the moment (launch titles for £30, few on offer for £17 etc...).

I'd say if you have the spare chunk of money burning a hole in your pocket then deffo get one.

Did you sell your Wii then? If so, can you tell me what you sold and how much for, I'm trying to work out how much mine is worth with all the goodies!

I don't have much spare cash so basically I'm considering :

          A. Trade Wii in for a PS3
          B. Sell Wii for cash

I am a proud and happy PS3 (US) owner with a growing Blu-Ray collection (hey just got my Euro Casino Royale for free!) and the following 4 games:

            MotorStorm

            Resistance

            Virtua Fighter 5

            F1 Championship

The first 2 are must-haves, while the latter 2 while being great, might not cater to people not into that sort if thing.

And FYI, even though I consider Wii Sports a classic now, I had (and still have) a lot more fun with MotorStorm! And there sits my Wii, collecting dust since January...

Well I sold my Wii about a month ago now & got ?215 for it which was only ?35 less than what I paid for it on launch day with the following bits...

              PAL Wii
              Madcatz Component Cable
              Zelda
              Wii Play with Remote
              Extra Nunchuk

Dont think I did too bad losing out on ?35 in 5 months

Also I'm in the same boat game ALOT on the 360 now & want a PS3 but what's stopping me at the moment is the games I did want...VF5, DMC4, Assasins Creed have all been announced for the 360 so I cant really see the benfit of spending nearly ?400 on a US machine to play loads of cross format games that I can play quite happily on my 360.

I'm going to wait till later in the year now & then when Madden '08 & NCAA '08 are released I'll get my PS3 (I have a Jap 360 & trying to get Madden on that was a right royal Pain in the arse...or at least it was for '07 anyway not to mention the fact that NCAA wasnt released outside of America anyway) so hopefully by that time there will be more exclusives on the horizon to warrant the purchase as well.

Computer Exchange will pay £180 cash for a Wii (according to their web site). You can sell them online too, that's what I did with mine, although they were paying a bit more when I sold my one.

As for the PS3 though, I haven't used that a huge amount since I've bought it either, it's mainly used for Blu Ray playing now. I didn't get on with the launch games as well as some others did, although I'd probably have got more out of Resistance if I'd stuck with it (and not been distracted by 360 games!)

Motorstorm and Ridge Racer 7 are fantastic. I also have a 360, and although for me (large hands) the PS3 pad is a bit uncomfortable at times, those two games are getting all my gaming time at present.
The PS3 network is pretty decent too. Reasonably quick and Ridge online is better IMO than Ridge 6 on the 360.

I've downloaded Tekken, Flow and Super-Rub-A-Dub. Only really played the latter, which is good Monkeyball-esque fun.

As for the future, well, not currently a huge amount is imminent, but I'm looking forward to Little Big Planet

My PS3 mainly gets used for BluRay films, I have a few games, VF5,VT3,RR7,Motorstorm and Resistance and the only game I play is the everybodys golf demo from the HK store.

Exclusive wise, it's those four games for what looks like most of the year, isn't it? And VF5 is coming to 360 anyway. There are some other exclusives in 2006, but none that really scream 'I'm going to be nut-bustingly amazing me!'

If you have a 360, it's a cheap Blu-Ray player that also plays Motorstorm.

Resistance Fall of Man is fan bloody tastic, I prefer playing it online to anything on the 360 at the moment and I love my 360 to bits.

Yeah, Resistance is great online. Gets a little addictive ranking up and aquiring new clothing for your online soldier.

Motostorm is lots of fun. Then apart from maybe RR7, you've probably experienced the rest of the goodness. Oblivion etc. Oh and there's the great Railfan.. well I think it's great

There is a drought at the moment, but luckily Resistance, Oblivion and RR7 are getting me through it.

On the horizon, I'm looking forward to Warhawk.

I didn't have a PS2, and I'm really enjoying Okami and FFXII. Both work fine on my HDMI too, (NTSC-U) so no problems there.

On the PS3 front, Motorstorm is pretty good, needs serious commitment though. Resistance is worth a punt, and really gets going around Manchester.
