If I bought a PS3 today, what games would you recommend?

I was in the same position recently and kind of still am. I sold my Wii as it had been gathering dust for months. I've been playing a PS3 round my mate's house to see what its like as I do want one, especially as I can just go and buy one from pretty much anywhere, but I just can't justify it at the moment.

If there was a AAA exclusive, then I'd get it now, especially because of the Blu Ray aspect, but from playing the games and talking with my mate, I'm not convinced by the longevity or depth of the launch titles. I think its a lot of money to spend just now given the alternatives out there at the moment.

It's already been said, but really as you have a 360 (and assuming you will be keeping it), there isn't any real reason to spend the money on a PS3 unless you want Blu-Ray. Motorstorm, Resistance, and VF5 are all nice, but I definitely wouldn't pay £400 for them.

Sell the Wii, pocket the cash and buy the PS3 when it drops in price/ has more exclusives.

That relates to Motorstorm and RFOM, not RR7. (Well my copy at least!)

RR7 did it right, you can pick and choose which country to play on, and also the disk is fully region free.

I woudl expect that forthcoming PS3 games will follow this lead too.

That's only ?59 more than I paid for the US version, so if people want a PAL unit, I would think that's closer to an "OK" price.

Mind you, if you have any friends/family coming over from the states, the arugument for a US machine is still valid, but perhaps not worth the trouble for only 60 notes?

Good news for everyone.

Early adopters should be buying the PS3 with open eyes, nothing on the console makes it a "Must have" unit yet, and you are buying into a machine who's best is yet to come, but the lower the price, the easier it is to buy in...

The console is holding at ?500 in Norway, with first pary games holding at ?55. Lets hope the wave of better pricing comes our way... Thank goodness for play.com!
