Bollock.
When the DVD stops and I go back to dashboard, I think the laser goes back to centre? I get an awful GRINDING sound for a few seconds. The disks aren't scratched.
It's an Oct2005 machine.
Anyone had that problem?

just got back my 360, and its a different, japanese machine this time. only slight downer is its manufacture date is 1/11/05, so dunno how long this`ll last. seems brand new, and wanted to go through the initial setup you get when you first boot up out of the box. obviously was spared all that as i still have the HDD from the original unit.
seems a lot quieter than my last model, have`nt had a chance to try out the DVD drive yet, as i`m trying to get it all updated, etc. does`nt run even remotely as hot as the other model either.

well, seems a lot quieter when running a game. before i had to really switch up the amp, as it was so loud. also kicking out a lot less heat that before while playing a disc as well. before the entire case would be running hot, now its just slightly warm in the middle, currently in a horizontal position.
i`ve just saw`d a couple of bits of wood to act as a platform for the PSU to take it off the ground. before it was running very hot, now its a lot cooler as well. i dunno if it`ll make any difference in the long run, but paranoia levels are high in this house just now...

After my 1st day ring of red panic I had back in September my 360 has been fine..........................up until yesterday!!
After it not being played for like 10 days I switched it on about 6 times & every time I got the ring of red & no recognition from my TV of it even being on i.e. it didnt jump to the AV channel.
And just as I was about to start playing Lost Planet too!!
B'Stards!!
Looks like I'll have to get on the blower to MS then.
Whats the number I need to call again?
