Does it crash as soon as you start it? I heard that when they do check it, they just pop in a game like GOW and see if it loads a level and if it does its passed the test.

The 360 itself works fine, but it wont actualy SHOW anything on the screen, so if they test it im screwed. If im without a 360 when Halo 3 comes out, I seriously am going out on a murdering spree.

        360 no.3 is dying.

Not totally dead yet, but I get the 3 reds every now and again when i boot up the machine.

This is exactly what happened with my 2nd 360. a few weeks of ocational 3 reds then one day....boom that's it dead.

So the last time this happened was in the middle of the Halo 3 beta.
So just as Halo3 is coming out, my 360 is on the way out.

You see, im a rabid Halo fan and the wait for Halo3 is torturous, also right now I'm short of funds, really don't know what to do because I HAVE to play Halo 3 but my last console took 6 weeks to come through. :'(

Just do what all the other rich people on the board do and buy another console while you wait for your current one to be repaired In an impossible situation, you need to ask yourself "How badly do you want to play Halo 3 the very second it becomes available"?

I REALLY need to play Halo 3 when it's released :P

I have a new plan, I buy one from tesco, I take it home, I switch teh consoles, and then return it. Either A) I get a refund, or B ) an exchange for a working console, Which my mate will then buy from me for £150. Im happy enough with that.

What the likelyhood of this working? Do tesco check the serial numbers?

Doesn't that strike you as, y'know, unethical at the least? Regardless of that, I'm sure it's fraud.

Why should someone else pay for your problem? When it's found out what's happened, the poor sap who did the refund will most likely have his wages docked.

But I've bought a console from them, I'm paying extra for no reason. It would be the same had I bought the console from them and that one was faulty.

I cant justify it, fair play, but i'd rather screw over tesco than myself, I fear come tuesday when my Master cheif helmet arrives, I will actually cry if I dont have a 360 to play it on I'm being serious, I think I would actually cry

I know someone else on this forum who has done that Kirov. F*£$ Tesco up their huge, megacorporate walnut!

Tesco are hardly gonna suffer either . It'll just go back as faulty stock. Oh an **** selling it to your mate for a loss just get your money back.

Which means Microsoft end up repairing it either way. Ethical dillema averted!

Right... I have had what I thought was a bricked 360 sitting in my house for a couple months now and I was finally getting round to sorting it and fired it up there fora wee check and find that it is working fine... I actually just finished a wee set of Moneky Wrench by the Foo Fighters on Guitar Hero and it worked perfect. What do I do??

Is it a matter of time before it bins again?? Should I take it into Game and get what I can for it while it has some life in it?

What is the problem with it? If it has the three red lights, then MS has an extended warranty. If not, then either lie to them or suffocate the console with a towel during extended play and it will doubtless exhibit the requisite symptoms eventually.

The problem is 2 months ago it 3 red lighted and I went out and bought a new one and am only now getting round to getting in touch MS to get the broke one repaired... but I fired it up there to check and it seems to have healed itself

So, I basically now have an extra 360 that gave me 3 red lights a few months ago but now seems to be working ok. I dont want to sell it in case it 3 red lights about 2 hours after the buyer gets it so am asking what you boys think I should do?? Personally, I think a Game trade in for cash or credit is my best option.

They may take your name and number down, so trading a dying console might not be the best solution. Why not just get a replacement from MS and sell that one - then you know you're not going to get any come back. Word has it MS are phasing out borked 360's by offering new ones to people.

                              When I got mine fixed I got a refurb - I think because they couldn't find the error/ it wasn't a 3RL issue.

So what if they take my details... if they take it off me, test it and accept it then anything that happens to it after that is there problem... I gave them a fully functional machine, which it is

I will give it another few tries before I decide what to do though as the MS system for dealing with bricked consoles aint too bad now.
