360 Issues thread

just been playing halo3 got to the cutscenes at the end of level 6 when i got a dirty disk error. now the disk was perfect not a single mark on it.
might be the drive is about to go?

worst thing is i've got to start halo from midway through level 3 now

Has the console been on for a while? Without sounding like a broken record (and boreing everyone to death) the DVD drives right above the GPU heatsink (with about 3mm clearance), and I've noticed on one of me 360's that after a while the drive starts to misbehave due (i think) to heat issues....
Does your drive make 'clicking' noises at all when reading a disc, or does the drive tray stick sometimes when you open it? These are also signs of a failing drive.
Anyhow - in all probability, it could just be a one-off, if it persists in buggering up and dde's too much (and its still under warranty), make the bad-boy 3lod by overheating, and send it back to MS.....

think i'm best getting the console to red light and get ms to fix it for free?

Curse MS and their lovely but malfunctioning console! Have you had a butchers in the port at all - is there anything causing a short between the 8 connectors? If not, it could be a one-off, the 'box requesting feedback from the ethernet circuit and not getting the correct response, so it rl's.... if it persists it could mean yet another return to MS

Reckon so - a friends 360 does exactly that, he opened it to try and fix the problem before the 3 year warranty was announced - the laggy band trick worked for a while - the laser chassis mech was knackered....
Play Halo till yer sick of it, and red light the poor thing

Had my 360 back ten days, turn it on a minute ago and get a single red light in bottom right corner and a E73 Error page. Turn off and back on again and seems OK



lead is secured in fine, doesn't sound great though does it. Anyone else had a similar error - assume they have but this thread is too big to search.

i occasionally get a red light in the bottom right - E74. Uusually happens when i forget to remove the usb powered cooler it sits on and sometimes when i dont turn on my PC (VGA) channel on my HDTV first.

Mine's a E73 error not E74 thanks, that'll probably be next week

Anyway turned 360 on four times tonight and 50% red light ratio so far

Connects to Live fine when working so will wait and see how it goes, thanks for replies though guys.

Could anyone please tell me how quick these UPS fellas usually take to deliver 360's? When I rang Microsoft 4 days ago I was informed my 360 would be with me in 2-3 days.

Well my 5th Machine gave up the ghost today. Every game that was put in the drive said "Unreadable Disc"

Tried everything, No Harddrive, Lens Cleaner, etc etc and nothing brought it back to life.

So took it back to currys for Machine number 6....premium with HDMI port...oooh lovely

Apologies if this has been asked already.My neighbour has had his 360 for around a year and now has the 3 red lights.He cannot find the receipt and i dont think he goes online either.Can he still get the machine repaired/replaced by calling microsoft or is the receipt required.

They don't need a receipt, give them a call and a courier will pick it up the next couple of days.

the courier will spend 20 minutes telling you that half his life is spent picking up dropping off 360s if the one I had was anything to go by!

GAME are tossbags at times, I lug the 360 all the way back into the city (by hand) expecting they'd let me hang onto my HDD as I spent a good 45 minutes transfering all the saves across and they tell me that they aren't allowed and that it has to be the same HDD with it
