Do Game accept returns? My launch one from Game died ages ago and have since had two replacements from Microsoft. My third unit has just red ringed (just minutes after getting Halo3 *cry*) - do Game take dead consoles in exchange for new ones so they can sort it out? To be honest I'm tempted to try and trade it in for an elite or something crazy.

Same thing happened to me on sunday. Game wont take it unless its within the first year- I tried that too
They do test EVERY 360 console they take though, so do the towel trick, leave it for 40 mins, then go trade it in.Comment

How long does the towel trick usually last for? I cooked it for a good 20 minutes and to my utter surprise it actually worked.
I just need to get through a lan session tomorrow - roughly 12 hours. Possible?Comment

keep the towel round it, ive heard of people keeping it up for a week or so.
Your best bet in all honesty- while it works, keep the towel round it for about 40 mins. Then go and trade it in. It'll remove alot of hassle, and you could get yourself a nice elite while you're at it!Comment

Yup just traded it and didn't keep hdd. I figured I had finished all the games I currently have so don't mind losing saves, and better off doing so before I start on Halo3!
Thanks for the advice, I couldn't face going through Microsoft support for the forth time. Interestingly Game didn't even bother checking the machine worked, so their loss

Had my 360 back ten days, turn it on a minute ago and get a single red light in bottom right corner and a E73 Error page. Turn off and back on again and seems OK
lead is secured in fine, doesn't sound great though does it. Anyone else had a similar error - assume they have but this thread is too big to search.E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port.Comment

Sounds a bit off- E73 as you've saids an ethernet port error - on the 360's side. This can be caused by the dreaded overheating/ warping motherboard crapping the connections to the port (have seen them before with resistors dropped of the underside of the board thats on the ethernet circuit due to overheating). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it may be the start of the 3lods. just been playing halo3 got to the cutscenes at the end of level 6 when i got a dirty disk error. now the disk was perfect not a single mark on it.
might be the drive is about to go?
