360 Issues thread

    In other news, I got the email to say my system is on its way back

    The email was sent as 00.20 last night and the courier site doesn't recognise the tracking number yet, so I assume it hasn't been picked up.

    It also says the date of shipping was the first week of August - which means MS have developed an impressive system of time/space manipulation to actually send my system back to me before they'd even recieved it

    Still, I'm not allowing myself to get too excited just yet. The real test will be if I end up with my old US system that's been repaired or a replacement US one... or a PAL one...

      Had this happen to me with the Dead Rising demo on my last 360. After it had happend once it just got worse and worse. Was freezing up within minutes of being switched on. I now longer believe the freezing has anythng to do with overheating, and its all down to the software (certain games or the 360's themselves)

      Just get it replaced and hope for the best mate.

        just got off the phone with ms and they have agreed to repair my jap 360 free of charge,they are picking it up tommorrow.very relieved i did not expect any help really.down side is someone suggested trying it without the hard drive in so i did and it has ripped my new dead rising disk to peices so does anyone no if you can repair disks and where.
        thanks for the advice

        they did say it would only take 5 days but i wont hold my breath

          Once again guys, I think we need to remember that the poll will be biased in the 'no' column, since people with no 360 problems will rarely check this thread

            what do you vote for on that poll if you've had to return 2 machines and ur 3rd machine has started randomly locking up? :P

                If they do indeed do that (and Spatial gets his US one back) I'm definitely investing in a Japanese unit.

                    So basically, now the tracking number is active "Your Xbox Video Game system has been shipped!" seems to actually mean "Your Xbox Video Game system hasn't actually been dispatched yet, but we've told them to come and pick it up at some point".

                      I had my emails from them also one to say it's there, then one an hour later to say its been dispatched for return
                      Will be interesting to see if it is fixed eh?

                        Well how wrong I was, the system turned up first thing this morning.

                        This is the post you've all been waiting for... and it's very good news.


                        While I haven't had my old system returned to me (the system I've had back has a different serial number and manufacture date) the amazing news is that it's a US system!!!!

                        Not only that but it's in pristine condition, runs noticeably cooler and a lot quieter than my old one.

                        I would say top marks to MS, but its off the scale to be honest.

                        Oustanding customer support given the circumstances, and while the turnaround for the system might have been slower than others it was well worth it in the end.
