Well my third box went off on thursday so how long will I be waiting? luckily Im playing bioshock on pc so no danger there. Still it's bloody annoying.

Mine came back today, dunno if its a refurb or a new one. Stickered up to the nines like a new one either way. Came back after 27 days. Gonna test it and then flog it coz I've got a Premium anyway. Also came with 1 months free Live Gold Membership to cover the inconvenience so gonna use that as a deal sweetner for the resell.

Number 2 of your list isn't advisible as the dashboard runs the system plenty hot. Common sense suggests that running fans after thermal activity has ceased is infact a good idea. Are you suggesting common sense should be ignored?
At the very least, show me where the other steps are actually more harm than good to the longterm health of the console...

You got the wrong end of the stick. Internet humor doesn't always travel well, but Spatial was just having fun by saying burying a pigs head is a more proven way of fixing the issue, rather than better cooling etc.

I'm an advocate of lego stands myself. A big one for the 360, small one for the PSU. Look on the gaming setup thread, and the study picture. Can you see my lego stand? (Yello/red)

Anyway, your advice has been spot on, and don't think Spatial was being rude, he's not!

Yes it was a throwaway joke remark about strange voodoo practices. Hence the even sillier remark at the end which was off the wall and implied the actual common sense and practical stuff in 1-3 regarding help keep the system cool wouldn't work and you'd be better off committing acts against God and nature.
