Wipeout HD [PSN]

I've just swapped my HDD, I'm going to download everything off of every store now just to make sure I'm using as much of it as possible.

Wipeout would sell well as a full retail. I get the impression this started off as a stop-gap to a full retail version and was planned for PSN from the start, then kinda grew and grew to the game it is now but they kept it PSN rather than bumping it up to retail. No doubt they're counting on making more with map-packs in the future.

Maybe they'll release a map editor, you never know!!

As you say, this may open people's eyes to downloads and PSN. It takes these big releases to prove it's a viable format. Little arcade games are all well and good, but PSN / Live need big titles like this to start making the transition. Sony seem to be going about it the right way, with GTprologue, Quest For Booty, Warhawk, etc. Not being size limited is a really positive point.

God, my heart raced for a second there, thought it was out. Need something to play as I'm off uni today and the gym is closed and everyone's playing LBP making me jealous!!! I have nothing to do and it's making me want this more now. I can't wait!

Has anyone heard if there's an option to disable weapons ala Wipeout 3, for some pure racing action?

I haven't heard, but I'm with you on that one all the way. As well as the option to disable the driver assist.

Pulse had an option to disable all power-ups and weapons and this seems to be very similar to Pulse so I imagine disabling them will likely be an option here.
