I don't think it's happened with any other games though?

The only thing they've improved in Gran Turismo is the graphics, and even that seemed to be at the expense of actual content in GT3's case.

And that's something that Polyphony are unapologetic about, and pretty much always have been.
Kikizo: Could you give us your opinion on Forza MotorSport 2 for the Xbox 360, and in particular, the ability to reskin your car in very great detail - are you going to have this degree of superficial car customisation in GT5?
Yamauchi: Straight off the bat, I think that in terms of feature sets, Forza is ahead of us. They have more options, you can do basically anything. We take a different approach obviously - we try to concentrate on what are the core values for a racing game, and we try to elevate those standards up as high as we possibly can.

For me PGR4 has brought the PGR series right back on track, I adored 1 and 2 and didn't like 3 at all, this is far more like PGR2 and that can only be a good thing.
I'll be interested to see what GT5 Prologue will be like and shall try it out on my mates machine when it's out but I expect it to be as dull as all the other entries in the series, I hope to be proven wrong.Last edited by mr_woo; 11-10-2007, 22:08.

They're different games. The majority of the media reaction to PGR4 has been 'more of the same' (with sites oddly putting down the stellar graphics), though I was impressed with the demo personally. I think most people have burnout towards PGR4 because it's so soon after Forza.
As for GT5. Kaz Yamauchi has the right argument when he defends how they probably won't be hitting every base, but Polyphony will need to back it up (the quality over quantity line).Last edited by Concept; 12-10-2007, 08:45.
