Sell the Wii and buy the PS3 so you can use it for Folding@Home until there are some decent games available.

Don't listen to him! I have all 3 & if anything, it's making me hate gaming! All this wasted time & cash x3! For the sake of your sanity give it a miss!

Buying a PS3 now would be an even bigger waste of money as there's sod all to warrant forking out the kind of money Sony are asking for and the big exclusives that everyone is waiting for i.e. MGS 4, Final Fantasy 13 & Little Big Planet won't be due out till next year. If the Wii isn't floating your boat I'd suggest picking up the 360 again, personally I'd rather have a noisy machine with plenty of games worth playing than a quiet one with barely any, plus the 360 is much cheaper.

I'd hold off on the PS3 until the now inevitible price drop. The PS3 will probably drop by almost as much as the Wiis RRP over the next 12 months. Also imo alot of the must have games that people were waiting for, are either now multi format, cancelled, or pushed back into next fiscal year (starting April 2008).

At the same time though, the Wii is hardly a goldmine for gaming atm, though I'm finding a few gems on it now, Pangya completely took me by surprise, and I've been playing that a hell of alot more than even Zelda >_< Mario Strikers and Resident Evil 4 have also been rather stonking recent releases.

Is there any GameCube stuff you want to catch up on? As you could via the Wii possible visit some titles you missed out on first time around while software gets into gear for the Wii and PS3 and in the PS3s case a nifty 3 figure price drop would do wonders.

Failing all that, second hand PS2s are dirt cheap now, and theres no end of decent gaming to be had on that.

i sold my wii after i finished twilight princess. There wasn't anything to get my teeth into after i finished that, i still dont think there is anything else out there at the moment.

As for the ps3, i agree with what Nisa is saying they both are the same when it comes to games, but the ps3 is even worse off because of the lack of a steller title. Unless you mean VF5, which is a niche title really.

Unless you have ps1 or ps2 games you want to play upscaled nicely (don't know whats its like on a pal console), then there isn't any point really. Just save yourself some money and get yourself a 360 if you dont have one already.

Thanks all for your comments, I think you successfully talked me out of selling the Wii, so well done the NTSC Collective . As I guess the amount of money I'd lose on a Wii if I sold in, say, 12 months time would still be substantially less than the money I'd lose on depreciation of a PS3 over the same period, it's probably wise enough. Maybe when LittleBigPlanet appears and is actually great and PS3 price is lower, it might be time then to buy...

Think I will offload a couple of things like Warioware though and look at getting some of the more recent stuff like Elebits or Kororinpa. Started looking on eBay for BG&E 'cube version again too

My wii was untouched for a while there too - My mate brought a few games round last week and I was well impressed - SSX & Mercury in particular were fantastic (Mercury was made for the wii). On top of that Resi4 is as blinding to play now with wii controls as it was in '05.

You'd have to be mad (imo) to buy a PS3 just now particularly if you don't have a 360 - It can't hold a candle to 360's current or future line-up (for the forseeable - Next week they might announce something??) and if you're going online gaming 360 is King. On top of that a price cut pre-Xmas is a given and that means you'll be seeing PS3's going for £250 post-Xmas without a doubt.

I considered selling my wii but I know as soon as I do Nintendo will drop some kind of megaton !!!

The PS3's line-up is improving, but yes, the most sensible thing is to wait for E3. Nintendo's press conference is going to be interesting to see where it's weighted in terms of audience.

It's not as though the casual market is going to even know what E3 is.

I'm hoping Nintendo win me over.

FYI, PS3 is getting 100 dollar price drop in USA / Canada. Both Best Buy and Target are advertising "new, low price, starting 16.7" in their flyers.

I take it the retailers have accidentally spilled some of Sony's E3 load early then?

Yup. It is decent drop, especially considering that you also get five* Blu-Ray movies for limited time. But to be perfectly honest, this doesn't make big change in sales. X360 is currently struggling with 400 dollar price point, and PS3 is still 500 dollars. But it is start.

* List has five categories, and you pick single movie from each category. Unfortunately quality of offered titles is "lacking" with some exceptions. Here is the AD.

I'd get a DS if I were you. It MDK's all 3 consoles by a long, long way.
Kept you waiting, huh?
