UK is normally fairly early in the afternoon and the US is usually around 23:00 our time (Though it was up a lot earlier last week). Not sure about Japan, but I'd imagine it's earlier still as they're eight hours ahead of us.

The first year of LIVE Arcade hardly set the world alight.

I prefer the style of the PSN to that of Live myself. It's way more "non-games machine" if you catch my drift.

I don't think anybody could argue otherwise. I just think it's yet another unfair complaint at the PS3 for the sake of it. The PS store is not that bad at all, the LIVE arcade was nowhere near as good as it is now in it's first year.

Totally non-gaming related, but I really enjoy the movie trailers on the USA PSN. I know I could watch them on my computer quite easily, but I like to see them in HD on my telly. That is all

To be honest I'm not talking about the store, more about Live as a package; in the way it's works and sites like majornelson.com, mygamercard.net etc.

Having used a PSP for years I quite like the crossbar interface as a "dashboard".

I think David is right about the community aspect of the PS3. It does seem to be something that they are willing to adapt it as needed though.

I'm looking forward to the Gamer Card thing and the fact that you will have your profile accessible from a PC also.

I think that both really could learn from each other though, as Daryl commented earlier I too prefer the open approach that Sony have taken but there are obvious advantages with the locked down approach that Microsoft use.

I really hope they don't change the XMB either as I really love the minimalistic approach when compared to the Live approach.

I prefer to watch my trailers for games and films on the PS3 too. My PC would probably die if I tried to play a HD stream on it lol.

The only thing I don't like about live is paying for a service without dedicated servers and with ads all over it.
If Sony can do it for free then so can MS if not why not just make it ad supported like ETQW of BF2142

There's a load more PS1 games and PS3 Trailers on the JPN store this morning, no new demo's from what I could see - I was half asleep though and finding your way round the JPN store is not the easiest thing in the world.
