Hope this article is wrong and GT5P demo is still due Saturday 20th, but as Polyphony are involved .....

For those of you who worship at the alter of Playstation, life is about to get more bearable. Its name is Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and it will be available to download for free on October 24th. The move is an effort to keep thumbs from atrophying after the long hiatus between GT4 and the new prologue installment, due out in stores December 13th (at least in Japan). The launch is coinciding with the Tokyo Motor Show, where a number of vehicles that have parts in the game will be revealed in the really-real-world the day before. Among the models already confirmed: the new Nissan GT-R and Mitsubishi Evolution X, plus 16 other manufacturers, including Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. Three new tracks are also set to make their debut in GT5, including Fuji, Daytona and Suzuka.

Saturday is a bit of a strange day to release a demo. Still, hope it is the 20th.

Polyphony still have it down as 20th as their target release date. I suppose they could miss the target.

Some fairly predictable changes on the way to PSN.

Sony is working on plans to distribute video and music via the PlayStation Network, its online games system, in a significant step in transforming the PlayStation 3 games console into a multimedia device capable of networking with other Sony hardware.

?We are building a software infrastructure to distribute video and music, more particularly video, through the PlayStation Network,? said Sir Howard Stringer, Sony chief executive, during an interview in Moscow. ?That is a Japanese and American combined effort to build a platform around a common software architecture to distribute video via the PlayStation network into the [PSP handhelds] and beyond.?

He gave no timescale for the service, but said: ?We won't know how effective [the effort] is until early next year.?
No mention of games in the European Store though...

Even they don't know what they want to do with it - I wish they'd got the games side sorted out first but maybe under their new direction they feel they'll do better by sidelining that in favour of music & video distribution.....

quick question... can I still download from PSN whilst playing a PS2 title?

Not PS2 no, pretty much everything else you can though.

                            PSone titles?

Yeah, I've been playing MGS this week (From disc) and also SotN from the PSN and on each of them I remain online. I'm pretty sure it's only PS2 titles that stop it.

The Imabikisou demo on the JP Store is playable on the PSP via Remote Play.

That makes three now with that, Mainichi Issho and Lair.
