Well Im f* fuming. I knew I shouldnt have gone into them today (they switched to Blockbusters but its same old staff what crap on me) but I was after Universe at War on 360 but Woolys didnt have it (got HOTD on Wii from their though) so bought it from their. It wasnt sealed but I checked the disc was in and left (wasnt feeling too great as just had an injection at doctors). For some reason I was just getting out of bed now and something said check the back of the disc before I put it in and the disc is scratched to hell. The bloody member of staff has shoved a chewed second hand version on me for £40 (which I admit this game is impulse to play tonight or I would do my usual buy mail order). I purposely didnt put the disc in the drive so its easily traceable that its not on my gamertag.

Ive had to send my dad down now for us to get it sorted but I will NEVER use them again, real mucky trick that to play on us because I complained about em giving me poor service in wheelchair. Nice one Driffield Blockbusters

It's the way they store the discs too. I bought my mate DOOM on HD DVD from GameStation for an Xmas present and boy am I glad I always make a point of checking discs on unsealed games/movies, I couldn't have got it in any worse condition if I'd used it for skating down the street and that was supposedly "brand new". The scarier thing with GameStation though is their solution is to "Buffer" it, which just make it even more prone to damage from any subsequent scratches >_<

I got Resident Evil: UC for the Wii from ChoicesUK online the other week. The copy that came was unsealed, scratched to hell and didn't work.

I sent it back, rang them up and complained - not that it will do any good - and will never use them again.

My dad got us another one no problem. He wasnt impressed though as he said they where all just shoved in draws opened and left rattling about to get scratched as she showed him how they store them. I dont exepect my stuff to be sealed but I do expect 360 stuff to at least have the security tag on them (that so tired yesterday I never thought about that Im just so used to getting my stuff from shopto like that). Its just way to easy for them allegedly this way to get one in 2nd hand and resell the disc as brand new or a rental as retail. Even the much cheaper Wii HOTD I got from woolys next door was sealed. I even told my dad not to let them put it anywhere near a disc cleaner as Id heard about that before lol The disc was that bad what he took back for us though that Ive returned less damaged discs what have been off their holder rattling around post from Gameplay years ago. It was like someone had took the top half of the disc underneath and marked it with a compass repeatedly to the middle.
Parents have refused to push us in their again though so its either ninja jouney of death in leccy chair or woolys from now on for these impulse moments

When I bought games from the then-nearby Choices (before it closed suddenly), I always used to be given the wrong game in the box. Nearly every time. I got into the habit of checking instore at the counter, after the annoyance of only discovering the error back at home.

Still, the shop had its advantages. Being able to buy games until 10pm in the evening was a big plus with my lifestyle. And it was good for random impulse-buy bargains - Ico and PS2 Marvel vs Capcom 2 for a tenner each? Yes please!
