Edge 180 Scores

Space Giraffe is already one of my favourite games on live arcade, fully deserving of the 8. The guy who gave it a 2 must have grinded his way through it, going by his score / level. Absolutely pathetic, especially seeing as he's paid to write that tripe.

Predictable score for HS it never has looked anything better then average to me, Sony should have picked a better game to push as the main system seller at christmas.

That 6 for HS has me shocked though, I think it's time EDGE called it a day before they shoot themselves in the ass with a score of 4 for Halo 3. I've never read an issue of this joke of a publication and I'll be damned before I do.

I too think 8's pretty fair for space Giraffe I am really enjoying it so far, and from all the vids I have seen and the demo I reckon 6 for HS would be about right too. Hate Edge magazine though it disappeared up its own a*** a long time ago.

Perhaps Bioshock used underhand tactics to get high scores, and the Edge are giving the real view? 8/10 = Very solid game, but does nothing new. (Much like the Bioshock demo)

But the First play and email/Pm's I've had from very cool people, who like me, have been gaming over 2 decades, tell me that Bioshock IS different, and IS revolutionary and should certainly be a 9/10 game.

So do I belive the Edge, or do I belive my peer group?

it deserves its 6 by the sounds of it as its an standard slash em up getting standard scores across the board all tied up in pretty graphics

God of War 1-2 or Ninja Gaiden are better examples of this type of game and scored better for a reason! so can you answer me this why should a game score well if there are better examples already out there.

Look at the judgment the dev's and publishers have shown this far with there 3 min demo which bored most people to tears.

That's not a fact I'm disputing, what I was saying is what if it wasn't worth an 8 in their eyes.

And I'm in no way suggesting that people ignore reviews - am I God? Would people leap to their deaths if I told them to? EDGE reviews should be taken with a grain of salt as they're usually quite unfair with their assessments or so one would think given only just average/below average scores for games that don't deserve them.

Thing is, Bioshock just isn't an 8/10 game. Fair enough I've only played the first hour so far, but it's jaw dropping.

The folks who made the game must be so hacked off reading Edge. Giving Space Giraffe the same score as their genre defining, visually stunning work of genius...what a fart in the face that'd be.

LOL these threads always crack me up. So what if you're favourite game only scores an 8 out of 10? Does it limit your enjoyment of it? And, has anyone here actually read the review to see why they believe 8 was a fair score?

Still, I can't believe Metroid Prime 2 only got an 8 a few years back. WTF were they thinking?

It's an interesting bit of lexicon. EDGE used to call 5 average (until they dropped the verbiage) and yet the modal score of an EDGE review is a 7 (by quite a big margin).

I suppose HS is slightly better than middling with a 6. I don't really see how you can argue with opinion on an issue like this.

It is in the view of EDGE. That's the end of the matter, surely?
