I agree, wish I had that much spare cash to spend on games or you all planning on selling a kidney or something ?

The last 6 weeks have been insane for me. Re-bought a wii + 5 games, a 360 elite with 4 games + halo 3 legendary, bought 2 DS games (nodame and ph3), a psp slim + 8 games inc crisis core and monster hunter and finally - just picked up a PS3/US, grabbing a few blu ray movies and resistance + warhawk.

      To come:
(dates I remember off hand - I dont know if that are the actual dates)
      FF tactics (PSP) (this week)
Oragne box (PC) (for me at least) - next week)
Zelda DS (DS) (3rd week of october)
Metriod 3 (Wii) (last week of october)
Mass effect (360) + mario glaxies (wii) (3rd week of november)
assasins creed (dunno if I want to take PS3, or 360) (last week of november).

Theres also a ton of games in still on the fence - such as Ratchet and Clank 3, Uncharted, Haze, Eternal Sonata etc - and some games I have nfc when they come out - like Beautiful Katamari (here at least). To be fair, I havent bought a game since last xmas so its just catch up. I dont think there are many games after MGS4 come out that I really want to get untill the xmas 2008 rush (at this point)...

New Burnout is this year right? Plus Hellgate London and Crisis! edit - Army of Two?

I can't afford any new games, what a sucker! I've decided to not buy random games anymore, at least for a while. Games like Airbourne etc, sticking to the big guns. Not sure how I can even afford them, but I'll find a way somehow

I think I may as well tell my friends they wont see me until Christmas. You are all right, this has to be the most tightly condensed elease of quality must-play games in many years.

Halo 3, Project Gotham 4 in a couple of weeks (the big one for me), Half Life Orange Box a week after that, then Call of Duty 4 early November. All these games have massive multiplayer elements to them, and I am really going to struggle getting the most out of each of them. Mastering any one of them may not be an option sadly.

Still, better this than absolute shovelware coming out eh?

Bring it on. I'd rather be flooded with quality than going through a drought.

I think a lot of us will buy these titles and only play and complete and handful of them (ok - the more casual/busy members) - I can see a game like Mass Effect or Mario Glaxies being played to its full, but I somehow suspect the new Zelda or even Uncharted to be played a bit and then left till the new year. Its all good though, Id rather have a shelf of AAA titles that I havent completed than none.

Its a mental time isnt it? I got 5games delivered yesterday (Skate, HaloCE, Opposing Force, Sega Rally, ETQW) and I ended up buying on top of that and playing TF2 (I bought the boxset) and whinging to myself because HaloCE was mashed in transit and World In conflict didnt turn up hehe I got Paper Mario, Heavenly Sword and Stranghold on tradins other week and then the usual of few weeks back of Blue Dragon etc..

The scarey thing is looking at my preorders Ive still got around £700 worth to get by end of the year, its just a good job I save my money during the summer for this time of the year!

Must admit I do feel odd when I get loads of releases like this, it sort of affects my stupid brain and I cant work new games out easily (ill health) for first hour so I actually have abit of dread when I play all these new games (I felt like I was having a fit learning TF2 last night!) but I soon start caressing the boxes of want more in a couple of hours TF2 has blown me away on PC though, cant believe its still beta code plays like a dream

I do bench my games when I get them though and play them when I want, for me I want the releases soon as they come out and then have them on the shelf in and when. Its not about anything for me other than I cant get out to the shops so rely on mail order so I get really peed off with myself if a games already out, I fancy playing it but cant get a carer/family to nip out locally and that gets me in an arse that I cant do it, much better to reach to the shelf at 3am and then just shove the disc in, postie is my friend

I'm pulling the reins in a bit atm ! No coincidence that I'm doing it at the same time as Halo 3 hits, which I know will take up allot of my limited game time, but at the same time I've started to realise that I've not been enjoying games as much since I opened the flood gates a few months ago.

I was quite disciplined after the 360's release not really picking up more than a game at a time, and making sure that I finished it off properly before moving on to the next. In doing that I really started to enjoy my games again, and taking advantage of achievements, I got far more time and enjoyment out of each title. For some reason I stopped doing this, and went through a period of buying allot more games, and while nothing like the number of games most on here buy, far more than the time I've got for gaming allowed me to get the most out of. I've now got quite a few unfinished games which annoys me, and reduces my enjoyment of newer games.

I don't think I'll be picking anything up now until the Orange Box hits, and even then I'm not sure if I'll get that. I may just wait a few days and get COD4 and give that a month of my time before I move onto Mass Effect. Mario will be for Christmas, if I decide to treat myself to a Wii, and that will be gaming 2007 finished.

There's not much on the Horizon for 2008 which has perked my interest apart from GTA 4, and with me not expecting that to now hit until qtr 3 2008, I will have plenty of time to pick up and finish off properly anything I missed from this killer 2007 Autumn line-up !

Even with endless free time I don't know how some of the folks on here even get to play all the games they buy, let alone get anything out of them. But hey each to their own, I've just decided I'm not spending any more hard earned money on games I'm not really going to have time to play. And I don't quite know why folks are buying to put on shelves to get to later, these things only go down in value remember - amazing how cheap you can pick up any 360 title a few months down the line !

I guess the games industry is just becoming much bigger, and so there's going to be more and more top titles getting released with rediculous budgets behind them. Gamers are just going to have to get used to being more picky about what they buy. Its obviously quite hard at the moment - shock to the system for many, it seems!

A few years ago, I would have been buying about 10 games this Christmas, and would probably have only scratched the surface of most of them before I went on to something new.

Now though, like a few others, I only buy a small amount of games, ones that I know I'll get stuck into and complete. I'll still take a punt on random titles from time to time, but if they don't begin to grab me pretty sharpish, they'll get sold on.

So for me, now that Halo 3 is out the way, it'll be PES2008, and then Mario Galaxy. There are many more I'm very interested in, but these will have to wait until I'm done with the must haves.

As Simmy said, there's no point buying games only for them to sit on your shelf, as you can pick them up nearly half price a couple of months after release.

Its not just games tho - there are a load of Blu-rays and dvds and books and all sorts that are coming out soon, which I just don't have the time or money for. I know the Christmas market is a lucrative one, but it's also a pain in the ass!

I'm uber time limited at the moment, this has caused me to draw up a priority list and make some tough choices.

                              I.E no CoD4 or Bioshock :'(.

With the small select of main titles I am playing I fear I am missing out on the bigger picture and some amazing gaming experiences. Tis an arse , but a nice problem to have as oposed to a tragedy...

Halo 3, Forza 2, Mass Effect and PGR4 360 me up + all the arcade games.

Wii Zelda until finished then Galaxies.

DS is being used for Mario Kart and Final Fantasy 1-6 (about to finish 3) at the moment.

Forgot the need to play TF2 and saving hl2 LC, ep1 and ep2 until I upgrade my pc!

Games I'm after from now to Dec:

                                Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
                                Mario Galaxy
                                Smash Bros.
                                Fire Emblem
                                Battalion Wars
                                RE: Umbrella Chronicles
                                Ghost Squad
                                Zack and Wiki

                                and maybe Nights 2

Was toying with the idea of getting a 360 now they last longer than a week, but I would not have enough time to play it tbh.
