Being just a Wii owner has its benefits at times like this as there is only a few games that I will purchase on day one such as Metroid: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

The Xbox 360 is throwing quality upon quality games every week since BioShock was released; it is mad. I'm somewhat glad I don't currently own one otherwise my wallet wouldn't be too pleased.

I used to buy every game I liked or took a fancy too until last year where I stopped buying almost everything to get out of debt. Oblivion and Civ 4 helped in this money saving task to no end. This year has been far more balanced where I can afford the games I really want and anything else can wait. Bioshock is the only game I've spent over ?30 on this season so far with only The orange box and Mass effect on my must buy list. Halo can wait.

Bizzarly I find myself playing Oblivion from scratch on the 360 (having spent over 200 hours on the PC one when it came out before my graphics card died on me) and Final Fantasy IX, playing the PS1 game for the first time having owned it since launch. Also of note, this is the first time since Civ 2 when I hadn't brought a Civ related game or expansion the day it came out. (because of the card problems.)

And here's a few more potential 360 buys (I personally want them all) that haven't been mentioned yet...

        Ace Combat 6
        Beautiful Katamari Damacy
        Virtua Fighter 5
        Lego Star Wars Complete Saga

Christ, I've still got some games from this time last year I've not played yet. >_<

I tend to stick to a two games per month rule. Mostly I'll just try and finish them and then move on (apart from the odd multiplayer session here and there). Also I won't get two of the same genre in the same month either (remembering all of those FPS controls can be slightly confusing when you've got a few on the go anyway!).

I'm a bit of a sports and shooter fan and this is what I've been playing and what I'm planning on getting...

          Last month
          Bioshock
          Virtua Tennis 3

          This month
          Halo 3
          Pro Evo 7

          Next month
          Call Of Duty 4
          Football Manager 08

          December
          Orange Box

I'm guilty of continually buying new games even when I have loads yet to play, although I have got better over the past few years. I always tend to pre-order (what I call) the 'big hitters' & puzzle games (which is my favourite genre) & try to wait for other titles to get reduced in price before I take the plunge. As an example, at the moment I have RR & Motorstorm on the go, so it makes no sense to buy Dirt/Sega Rally until I have got my moneys worth out of them or realise that I won't play them anymore.

It's ridiculous at the moment to be honest.

Fifa 08 and Stranglehold on the go, not to mention the fact I've barely scratched the surface of Halo 3 online (legendary co-op run on hold til a mate gets back on live).

Super Paper Mario on the backburner due to Fifa and Halo 3.

Guitar Hero 3, Pro Evo 2008, Call of Duty 4, The Simpsons Game all pre-ordered.

                I can't afford it.

                I haven't got the time.

                But I ****ing love it

                  Motorstorm just arrived? Check.
Virtua Tennis 3 and Virtua Fighter 5 still being played? Check.
Playing through Symphony of the Night? Check.
                  Still playing Warhawk? Check.
Oblivion GOTY, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Orange Box, Hot Shots Golf 5, PES2008, Assassins Creed, Wipeout HD, Super Street Fighter II HD, Haze, COD4 off the top of my head incoming over the next couple of months? Check.
                  PSP incoming? Check.
Trying to ignore all of the PS1/PS2 games I still want to play? Check.

Thank god I only own a console that has no games.

I've kind of lost the plot a bit. In the last few weeks I've bought:

                    Halo 3
                    Fifa 08
                    Bioshock
                    Blue Dragon
                    5 PSP games
                    PSP itself
                    Orange box

And coming out soon that I'll be buying:
                    Final Fantasy Tactics (PSP)
                    Mass Effect
                    Football Manager 08
                    Call of Duty 4 (possibility)

Still have half life 2 episode 1 and enchanted arms to play through.

Other problem is that I'm 99% sure I've forgotten a few must buy games in my list

It isn't just the stupidly large amounts of games that I'm buying, it's also how I have almost no spare time at all these days, and the amount of decent games coming out just doesn't seem to be stopping.

And as soon as Wrath of the Lich King appears my social live will officially end

Funnily enough I made a list today of all the stuff I want to play from now until the end of the year. Second time I've done it in the last few months since quite a bit has been delayed until 2008 over the past few weeks.

But it's still a phenomenal amount spread over the three major formats (not including the stuff I want for hand helds too). I think I got up to somewhere in the region of 15 titles between now and the end of December and then had a sober moment and decided to stop compiling.

The time it's going to take to play all of it is insane and more than I have to spend sadly. But I'll be giving it a bloody good go all the same

I've got too much on the go at the moment, I've got Skate, Sega Rally and FIFA 08, not to mention Phantom Hourglass en-route to keep me occupied, yet Halo 3 (unsurprisingly!) is dominating things - and will continue to do so I think.

So much good stuff is coming out I've had to really think about what I'm spending my time and money on. I've recently bought Halo 3 and will be limiting myself to one game per month from now on. They are:

                          Oct: HL2 - Orange Box
                          Nov: Mass Effect
                          Dec: tbc

Although there are many others that have me interested, I do have quite a few games to play through and trade.

----> And there goes my Xbox 360 to red ring heaven. Off to Microsoft you go!

Looking through this thread you have to wonder why isn't the 360 dominating this generation?

There's loads coming out and loads have just come out, none are getting delayed I can't help but get them on release, if not earlier!

This year on 360 I want (as well as being busy with new releases like Halo 3 and Sega Rally)

                            PGR 4 - Racing
                            Eternal Sonata - RPG
                            Mass Effect - Adventure/RPG?
                            Assassins Creed - Action Adventure
HL 2 Orange Box - FPS
                            PES 2008 - Footy/Sports

Games for everyone there AND they are the best of the genres! But people buy Wii's?

Sorry, I had to fix that.

On topic, I have to say that some of you lot seem to have a shameful lack of self-control! These lists are rediculous.
