I wonder how much PS3's reliability is simply down to how little most PS3s are used?

If I'm not at work, with my girlfriend or seeing mates, then the PS3 is probably on 4-8 hours a day, sometimes more if I leave it downloading and I've never had a worry with mine. It's also a Japanese launch model, it's about a year old and everything is fine.

I have a ton of friends on my Friends list who leave their PS3 constantly on for Folding@Home. It's almost like a competition between them. I can report that there have been no PS3 deaths between them either.

On topic: I think the 360 was the best choice here though at this moment in time.
