Wii shortages still, why?

Mate of mine has been after Mario Galaxy over the last week and it's not available anywhere we've looked. Went all around Warrington on Saturday and Manchester yesterday and not one store had it in stock.

Actually surprised me as I cannot remember the last time a recent release has been unavailable off the shelf. Never been something I thought happened over here.

House sitting in london next week and am looking to buy a wii once there. Any ideas of the best place to get one. I figure the big shops on oxford street will probably be out of stock but any indie places like CEX around?

Wouldn't bother with CEX at the moment as they're still selling them for ?230, second hand, without Wii Sports

If you can't find one in central London you might have a bit more luck going just outside central London to somewhere like Harrow. My brother picked up a Wii from Game in Harrow just before Xmas, and an HMV had them in stock for a while too.
