Then you won't be able to read this, but I completely rest my case. You must be one of the most hypocritical posters on the internet!

And for everyone else, I never claimed the 360 was a haven for all genres, I just said it wasn't dominated by only a handful. Some people can't take the truth it seems.

      Oblivion, Bioshock, Portal, HL2, Halo 3, COD4, R6:Vegas

They all are in the first person and all involve shooting. But to label lump them together as a single genre is not that useful. I vote for more useful genre naming conventions. Who's with me?

Similarly, "sports" is not a proper game genre. What does Skate have in common with PES? Or VT3 with Brian Lara's Cricket?

I don't know but apparently all those games represent "75%" of the 360 line up.

Spot on, I was just thinking the same thing. When we hear about how the 360 is the home for "sports" games, we're supposed to imagine some portly American jock settling down in front of the latest Madden or NBA iteration.

But yeah, I've played golf, table tennis, snowboarding and basketball on my 360 ... hardly all the same genre really.

Aparently 'colourful games' are now a genre too.

Nothing ! , and I'll Guarantee you ask any Nintendo fan what are the best games you can get for the N64 they’ll be few FPS and Sports games in the list You know your Perfect Darks, Golden Eye, or your ISS , Wave Race , 1080 they’re fine then , somehow evil on any other machine though.

I tell you this much for all the talk of motion controls being the gaming revolution, for me its LIVE and its integration with the 360
To me being able to hook up with the likes of Van and Kats , Team , Paulos for a game of ChromeHounds or Vegas, easily from the system menu is the best gaming feature this past 5 years , Better than any graphical or motion control gimmick

Who frickin cares what genre of game it is if it's a good one?

As for the age old It's all FPS and Racing game thing that is said as if it is exclusive to the 360, people have failed to forget that almost all the games of any merit/anticipating on the PS3 are in said genres (most of which are multi format, which makes the statement even more invalid).

Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon weren't able to breach 300 000 copies**. None of these titles were able to break even, which is pretty bad.

                  * And Viva Pinata: Party Animals didn't even chart
** I have no idea about how much that third RPG sold, but I guess it bombed too.

You didnt say that those types of games dont sell well on the 360, you said they wernt on it at all when clearly they are.

As for sales, I think its always gonna be the case that the latest sports games will sell more copies than obscure titles, and I'm sure developers know this before they make them no matter what console they are on, So I dont really see your point.
