I just read and watch the feature on eurogamer, on how they compared the "work in progress demo" to the final game. Not sure what happened there, either gearbox was trying to deceive their moneybackers/producers and the public, with the demo, or they had that version made but their dog ate it.

This is true, I mean fair enough for a refund for the retail but they will expect damages for hardship and losses caused to their person for the game being a bit of a stinker. It is obscene.

I saw the game btw. and it didn't even seem THAT bad. Not 3/10 bad. It certainly wasn't great either, but hey guess what, many games aren't. There was decent "Aliens" feeling in the atmosphere and the pulse rifle sounded like it should have. Not worth ?40, but not the WORST GAME EVA either and certainly better than Duke Nukem Forever. This whole thing reminds me of the Mass Effect 3 ending idiocy.

I'm still bitter about the Mass Effect 3 ending even today. It's not just like a bad game where I can choose not to buy it, it was having to go through 3 games only to be slapped in the face with a trout.

The ME3 ending was still okay in my eyes, not great but then most endings are alot worse. For me the main issue did revolve around having a huge universe they built up with your crew as the main reason for playing then zero explanation about the outcome with them.
