I think the should definitely keep double-jumps and Hockenheim in.

'FSW in space' isn't going to happen I'm afraid Ian. I was half hoping for this as well. But in an interview with Gearbox (about them generally, not just Aliens) they said they didn't feel Aliens needed squad mechanics of any sort because as they quite rightly pointed out it's a waste of time using military tactics against what are essentially vicious animals. They did say however that they'll be applying their experience and expertise in creating solid characters and good team AI, so the squad will pretty much look after itself anyway by doing things like holding formations, automatically keeping their arcs covered etc etc.

Gearbox's assertion that squad mechanics would not work is bollocks. Witness the first insertion into Hadley's Hope in the movie, Apone directs the marines to move forward (sic) by squads. At this early stage we viewers were 'almost' convinced the marines could repel any attacks.
The very reason the marines met their doom a wee bit later is purely and simply they did not work as squads, they were in dissarray when and during aliens attacked, save the lack of ammo which had been taken off them at Burke's behest, which is a rubbish scene btw.
The proper Aliens game when it comes will redefine the movie...This time the marines will have a chance to win, in the atmosphere processor encounter, in saving civilians, in securing the base, in defending the base, in rescuing the wee newt, in clearing a path for evac, in actual evac.
All without Ripley.
An alternative.
Is it so hard to do?
If no-one does the above game, one day I'll finance the bloody thing myself if I win Euromillions.

Shaky cam teaser trailer:
Guests of last week's Gearbox party didn't get a chance to just play Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway and Samba De Amigo and listen to DJ Jazzy Jeff, they also get a brief glimpse of upcoming shooter Aliens Colonial Marines. The teaser trailer looks to be the same one shown off in the months leading up to E3. Now…

According to a leaked email from Corrinne Yu, Gearbox's former head of technology (who is joining Microsoft to work on Halo projects), this is "more than mostly complete". It doesn't seem like it but it's nearly three years since they started developing this so it can't be that far away.
