Sony's Gamer Day '08 developer walk through part 1 and part 2 from last week.

Hmm not that impressed from it visually but it does look like it could be fun to play. When is this released?

Thought it looked pretty good for a multiplayer, PSN downloadable title - never played one before so immediately compared to GRAW, and it looks much better online than that.

The SixAxis tilting looks like a decent way to integrate it in to a game, very natural to use I'd have thought. I particularly like the way they've counted the usual 3rd person issue where your target has you aiming down a road, but as you're crouched behind a building you will actually just shoot the building. The game shows a little white rectangle to show you'll hit the wall instead. Nice touch

Looks good, the SOCOM games have always played well online so this should be a good addition to the PSN.

The 32 player map on show looked ace. Good to hear they're going nuts on the community side of things. Socom always seemed to do a very good game of army-dudes-fighting-with-guns-game. Looking very forward to it.

So it seems that now the PS3 is getting an official BT headset when SOCOM is released.

The Sony team, Slant Six reps, myself, and a bunch of reporters went out into the desert to shoot some guns, have some fun, and get some new facts on SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation and the official Bluetooth Headset for PLAYSTATION 3.

I read a while ago about the headset - it's the same as the Warhawk one but Sony branded? Something like that.

Looking forward to this game more than ever. MGO just isn't doing it for me

No, that's different to the Warhawk one, that was just a standard Jabra BT125 which did the job. I'm sure I'll end up picking it up anyway, not sure they're doing a boxed version of the game without the headset, at least at launch.

Is there a UK release date for SOCOM yet? It's Sep 16th in the US apparently.

Looks like we'll be waiting a little longer either way, US date has been shifted to October 14th.
