The best fighting game ever?

I was wondering why SSF2T isn't on that list, but Exploding Fist more than makes up for it. I've been known to covertly download capcrice32 and then Exploding Fist on random people's PC's when I'm bored (or fixing them).

Having said that, SF2T is my favourite, but I haven't really scraped the surface of SSF2T to really appreciate it (much less SF3).

Dunno how Virtua On got on there, though. I'd hardly call it a beat-em up, as it's a bit more long-range with all the shooting, with the odd close-range sword slap now and then. Although maybe I'm just a pussy?

But overall, I'm glad it's a nice, varied mix of games.

In defence of RG, while later iterations of VF, Tekken and Soul Calibur may be superior, they can hardly be classed as being retro. Mind you, I'd argue that the original Soul Calibur is too recent as well...

None of the games in bold are true beat 'em ups, they're hybrids and shouldn't really be compared to one on one fighting games imo. Never heard of that Barbarian game either. Suprisingly no Guilty Gear games, not into them myself but they're pretty damn compedent. Capcom vs SNK 2 has the first in the series for lunch.

Don't think it says that it's a 1v1 beatem up list though. Barbarian is an old beat em up so if your old enough you should recall it. Cap vs snk 2 is strange not to be in it like, maybe it's not old enough yet.. No alpha 2 or even 3 I thought would be in it to.

Any list should have KOF98, MOTW, 3rd Strike, SSF2X, and Samurai Spirits 2 in surely.
