how did everybody forget this classic plus all the C&C music, im not a great rock fan but this is awesome and ROCKS
WTF i was gonna post Hell March but youtube has this XL stuff anybody know how i post vids with this now???

Hell march was awesome, it's just a shame it goes into midi halfway through. Wasn't a fan of the recent remix
In terms of recent games with brilliant music, I'd have to say The World Ends With You. Whilst it largely depends on your taste in music and there's some horrific Engrish in the OST, the music fits the game perfectly.

        Daytona
        SC5 1 and 2
        Gitaroo Man
        Parappa the rapper 2
        Jet Set Radio
        Rez
        Vib Ribbon
Katamari ( all of them )
        Lumines

I could go on , a good soundtrack makes a great game even better IMHO .....

          killer7 gets my vote. Such an amazingly diverse and memorable bunch of tunes, and loads of them. Here's a few;

Yes, mirrors edge was excellent pretty much throughout the game. I remember it well as I only finished it last week as i'm trying to get through a backlog of games.

I also started Fallout 3 this week and although the tunes are commercial hits from the 40's i think, the likes of Billy Holiday, The Ink Spots and Danny Kaye amongst others really provides a haunting atmosphere as the tinny radio comes through your helmet while your in the wastelands or in a lair. But the background music in general is also very good.

World of Warcraft has some cracking ingame music as well.

Anyone remember this classic at a stonking 9 mins long:

And although its been mentioned in the thread elsewhere, these stage tunes from KI2 are just unbelievable imo. I will always remember this game as one of my favourites for grand in game music. Who can forget as well the speakers blasting C C C C COMBO BREAKER, lol, brilliant. It needs a re-release on the Wii, PSN, Live. All the stage tunes were great but i've just linked a few i liked

Shades of Total Recall here for the theme music

Tusks music sounds like it has been ripped from Conan (which is almost the same opening theme as Total Recall if i remember right.

And by far the best Character select music in any game

Agree with the nods to Killer 7 & Mario Galaxy, but one of my fave game soundtracks is Metroid Prime. So epic.

Ah yes! Metroid Prime has some great music. My favourite is Phendrana Drifts (sp?).

If I knew how to embed Youtube videos I would link to it like you guys have.

What those chaps said, definitely. Especially the remix of the underground theme in Mario 64.

I'm not wading through 14 other pages, but I'm sure Namco's sound team in recent years must have been mentioned. I haven't given Katamari any time at all but have played Mr Driller Drill Land for many, many hours and the music in that is immense, from little girls singing to remixes of the classic themes right up to sweeping operatics and an end-of-a-Disney-movie theme to end with. Fabulous stuff.

Would also definitely choose Earthbound for its riffs on various themes including rock and roll, rave and even country.

And Ikaruga. Level 3. Intense imperialistic wickedness.

Mentioned it early on this thread I think, but Super Turrican (Chris H?lsbeck) always gets my vote.

                                That and Equinox (Tim/Geoff Follin):

Equinox is a fantastic game by the way, definitely worth playing. It's one I missed back in the day, but making up for it now.
