Games that need a HD remake?

Quake 1 + 2 (Darkplaces somewhat covers that though)

I'd really love a super mario 64 sequel set back in the castle, on the Wii 2, and maybe as a bonus some of the old levels will still be around with some twists and changes alongside the new ones. Hell they could even have 'flashbacks' when he enters levels from SM64 that have changed significantly

Honestly, I can't think of one standard-definition game that would be really improved by an HD remake. Sure I'd love to play Metroid in HD, but would that actually improve it? To me it was perfect just the way it was.

Agreed. I see little need for classic 16-bit games like that to be remade. What exactly is wrong with them?! A remake of something that was being hampered by the technology at the time though? Yes, that makes sense and offers the chance of a being a genuine improvement.

eg: StarFox 64 - Leave everything as is, but clean up the graphics and make it run @ 60fps.

If any game needs one, it's Burning Rangers. It was an excellent game that was limited only by the hardware.

Zelda Ocarina Of Time would be awesome with a touch up. It always annoyed me that PopCap Games aren't proper full resolution on the PC.
