HL1 is a much better experience than HL2 imho. Good though HL2 was, i've never had the urge to play through it again, even though it still trounces most other FPS games out there.

Maybe its because i'm older and had already been a gamer for over 15 years, but when the first one came out, it was utterly ground breaking, (you would have had to have played it at the time to fully appreciate just how fantastic it was). I had never played anything that good in my life. Only the ending is sucky. But thats a small gripe. It probably doesn't stand up against todays FPS games tho but the enemy AI has never been bettered.

      Dragon Age.

My new slim PS3 might not be able to play PS2 games but BioWare come to the rescue with a PS3 title that looks like a PS2 game! Yay! Poor textures, choppy framerate and ventriloquist-like characters aside though I'm thoroughly enjoying this. Proper RPG stuff. Can;t wait to sink my teeth into it more.

Also playing Toro Party (rather good fun) and Disgaea :Afternoon of Darkness.

Just started to play Episode One now too, what an amazing opening!
Another I am wanting to play. Got to get the orange box as its such huge value.

Half-Life's AI has certainly been bettered given it was actually pretty dumb and just used a lot of clever scripting. Whether or not you still believe Half-Life is more effective is down to personal taste, of course.

I keep meaning to buy HL1 over Steam some time, maybe pick up the addons, too... it's been years since I played the first game. Currently dabbling with the sequel again given I'm now booting my PC up mostly for the Steam sales... I do take your point the first one was more of a landmark event, and I really want to see how well it holds up, but I think I could possibly argue HL2 was just as significant in its own way. I'd certainly never give up the use of Havok, the characterisation and the friendly AI in the sequel, that's for sure.

trying to play some of the cheapo games ive picked up over the last few months so I can trade em in.

so started Guitar Hero Aerosmith (tho i hate them and have no idea why I got this heh) and its standard stuff. Also started Alone in the Dark, very annoying, fiddley controls but after a difficult start its quite enjoyable.

also been playing GTA4 expansion disk...the ballad of gay tony specifically but got so bored after an hour or 2 I'm just going to get shot of that.

I refuse to move on from Fallout 3 now until I have 100% all of the trophies. Completed the main quest now, just need to kill a few more people, get the last few Bobbleheads, pass a fair few more speech challenges and explode someones' pants.

Started playing through the Broken Steel DLC as well.

I've yet to play Fallout, just waiting for the right time. Is it worth buying the DLC before I start or does it not make any difference?

Playing Shadow Complex this week as it's on offer. An amazing example of what can be acheived in Live Arcade.

I would buy Broken Steel and then complete the main quest as this will prevent your level being limited to 20.

Then you can work through the other 4 DLC's.

Yeah, Broken Steel allows the game to follow on nicely from the main questline. Worth seeing what you'd get on a trade though I'd say and picking up the GOTY version. I think all DLC works out at £25+ when you can get the GOTY for about that.

After loosing everything in a PC hard-drive crash, I've turned to my DSi and 360 (which frankly I want to sell, other than FFXIII there isnt anything on the horizen I really want that is not on the PC as well). Also realised I lost my first Pheonix Wright game... balls....

Anywho - MW2 achievements and multi-player when I'm not re downloading my Steam collection; Beautiful Katamari and Lost Oddessy when I am - really intend to get those and Dragon Age complete before the end of this holiday period.

End of Eternity demo, bit of SF4, some Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 and my flatmate keeps on trying to get me to play Dead Space (but it's too scary!)

LittleBigPlanet - going through the Pirates pack a little bit each day. The survival challenge was eeeevil! There is the potential for genius level designs using the rising and falling water level. I wish I had the time to sit down and plan out something a la Zelda's water temples.

It's so nice to have new LBP content for christmas, second year in a row and I hope they do the same next year too.

Patapon - this was my free download from the voucher included with the PSP go (Japanese). I always liked the look of this but never enough to actually buy it. It's super addictive - I sat up in bed until 3am tapping my feet and building my army. Really glad I got it, but I do wish I had time to decipher what they were talking about during the game. With hindsight I should probably have chosen Echochrome (but if I did I would probably have kept pushing Patapon to the bottom of the shopping list so.. .meh)

Wait...there's new LEVELS DLC for LBP?

Yes, 5 playable levels, 2 tutorial levels and 1 survival challenge to show off the water tools, all with trophies.
