What has everyone been playing this week?

I hadn't played anything (apart from the odd flash game) for a week or so. I tried Puzzle Quest Galactrix and Chronicles but neither are worth the time. Hopefully I'll be able to try HoMM: Clash of Heroes at some point

Started up on Darkstalkers again this morning. Before I had bought Uncharted 2 and played up till the demo section but I was just ploughing through it and not appreciating it so I stopped and left it for a later date so I bought Darkstalkers to play instead. I had played Darkstalkers up to the first dungeon (the demo dungeon) but wasn't feeling it so I left that as well and left the consoles to gather dust.

Started up on Dalkstalkers again this morning. Once I had beaten the dungeon boss (which I really disliked; I had turned the demo off on the boss) I played on into the rest of the game and started falling for the game.
The demo put me off buying it when Zavii first put it up for cheaps and I'm really glad I gave it a chance when tbm put it up for sale. Fantastic game.

Really looking forward to playing through the rest of the game.

Since I moved the BB Navigator into the games room I've decided to play Killer 7 properly for the first time. Seems damned good so far. Otherwise it's been DariusBurst on PSP.

Bit of Afterburner Climax and not too much else really.

Haven't got much left in terms of narrative driven, single player games left to do - only drop in, drop out stuff like FIFA or PGR.

Still glued to Pokemon Heart Gold. I've beaten Red now, so I've just got a few bits of post-game mop up and the National Dex to do. Unfortunately it looks like the easiest way to do the National Dex is going to be to finish my copies Sapphire, Fire Red and Diamond, and get the missus to do the same, since I'm not a big fan of the way Heart Gold/Soul Silver make you piss-fart around to get Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokemon.

Some guy seemed a bit upset the other day when I said rofl in the middle of a fight because I used Chun's SA2 into his Aegis Reflector. Pretty funny..

I've decided to give Crackdown a rest for a while as I've spent hours on it over the past week or so. Yesterday and today I've been playing Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo Wars.

Hadn't completed ODST until yesterday, quite enjoyed it and possibly my favourite since the first game. Had completed H3 at launch on my old gamer tag and had completely forgotten about it until now.

I'd also forgotten completely about that bloody Cortana level and just how much I hated it, it was heartbreaking to find myself in that again close to the end of a really enjoyable game. I still can't believe how they managed to get a level so wrong in such a good game.

I can't really get into Halo Wars, I know it's not made by Bungie and it's a completely different genre but it feels more like a pastiche of the franchise rather than a fully fledged chapter.

The games have really got me looking forward to Halo Reach, I know I'm in a minority but I'm not really bothered about the multiplayer side if stuff so I may not download the beta next month.

I'd love to see a Halo Collection appear along the lines of the God of War Collection that was released not long ago. I still think the first game is by far the best and I'd love to have it as well as the second remastered for download.

Monster Hunter Tri's been the biggest time sink this week. Much like Little King's Story last year, this has totally got under my skin. Simply rad.

Also, finally started Apollo Justice after playing Phoenix Wright 3 on and off over the past 2 years. It's great, and the slight increase in graphical detail and musical lushness is blowing my mind. I did have to chuckle when Wright showed up in the first 2 minutes, though.

Finally, been having quick blasts of After Burner Climax. It's brillo. All 8 minutes of it.
