Well I am playing Ridge Racer V still after 10 years! Love it!
Not sure what else to play, have put FF13 on the backburner indefinately.

        Been playing:

        Yakuza 3
        God of War III
        Battlefield Bad Co 2
        Perfect Dark XBLA

A good week for me. Should have GoW finished tomorrow so I can concentrate on Yakuza and Battlefield before Resonance of Fate next Friday.

          Been playing:

          Heavy Rain (PS3)
God of War I (PS3 - from the GOW Collection)
          Tekken 6 (360)

Absolutely loving Tekken 6 - the first fighting game I've played for more than a couple of hours in years. The reason for this? The Arcade stick that came with it (thanks Play for doing all that little lot for £40). Are any other fighting games compatible with the stick, or is it Tekken 6 only? If so, what fighting game next!

I'm about two thirds of the way through Heavy Rain, which I'm also enjoying. The control system is incredibly intuitive, but tough to master in those stressful moments. One of the most immersive games I've ever played - the filmic structure (including a stunning soundtrack), creates that '5 minutes more' hook, forcing you to play that bit longer.

As for God of War - I cannot get into it at all. I haven't played a GOW game before, so wanted to play through the GOW Collection before picking up GOW III cheaper down the line. I've only few levels, admittedly, but I expected more. Reading the comments on the various GOW threads on the forums, you guys love it - why isn't it grabbing me?

Been playing Haunting Ground on PS2. Got to the two-hour point so far, still finding the lack of combat alarming, but have 'Hewie' the dog as my companion, plus in terms of ALL presentation, this is an extremely high quality game.

The explore-bump into Quasimodo Guy-run-hide-cutscene gameplay is a bit frustratingly hands-off so far, but the storyline feels so unusually freaky, plus the atmos is lead-heavy, I shall *have* to persevere, though it may be difficult, being a fan of murdering things with guns, swords and lasers...

...and Hewie the dog, how great is that hound? He's better than Nintendogs, plus he's almost as interactive!

Not much in the last week as I was away with work. Since getting back I've carried on with Final Fantasy and given God of War III a bit of playtime though really couldn't get into the latter - all pomp, no soul.

Lots of things this week, mainly on the DS.

Sonic and Sega Allstars Racing, on the DS, done the Grand Prix's, on easy mind as I find medium frustrating enough; and working my way through alot of the challenges. I hate two for the Monkey Ball courses, man alive are they hideous. Great game though. Alot of thought has gone into this game. One gripe, in the hit/knock out two other racers, why have that bloody circle slap bang in the middle of your field of view, number of effin cones I have hit!

Grid Again on the DS, this game is great, reminds me of PGR2 at times, mainly cause I have been thrashing round San Francisco doing races there. The handling really does work well, and races can be tight, especially if you do take a few corners wrong.

Ninja Town Have had this for ages, never got round to playing it till this week. Tis a fun little grid defence game, quirky even, only done the first two maps, but looking forward to playing more of it.

Lego Star Wars : TCS Prequel Trilogy now done, thankfully. However, the boss fight kinda things vs General Grievous and then Anakin are rubbish, no way will you ever be able to collect any amount of studs and then hold on to them to kill them off. Shoddy in my eyes. Great game otherwise, looking forward to playing the real Star Wars now. Compared to the other DS games I have been playing though, not really a short burst game, each level can take up to 20mins or longer.

Battlefield BC 2 on the 360, played some MP, but was getting totally pwnd, am now convinced online FPS is not for me. Then done the first couple of levels in Singleplayer. Thinking this game is more linear than the first game, which is a shame. You certainly feel more rail roaded down routes this time so far.

DJ Hero also on the 360, I love this game. I do like Rock Band / Guitar Hero, and really wish I could be better at them games, especially on drums! For me, DJ Hero has such great mixes, certainly there has been alot of time and effort in crafting the tracks for this game. I am playing on Medium and getting around 85% of the notes, which isnt really good enough, but I'm enjoying the music and whole mechanic of the system. Almost tempted to get another deck!

Sacred 2 : Fallen Angel on 360, got this to see if it would be something my GF would like to play as she really enjoyed Fable 2, spent a couple of hours on it myself! Never really got in to RPG's, but this game seems not too bad, tis pretty standard though I guess. Will look at some Co-Op with my GF though.

All this talk about Final Fantasy XIII has got me playing Grandia 1. I'd forgotten how awesome the game was! A proper RPG

Whew! Well in short this week it's been:

                      God of War II
Finished this up in preparation of the new game.

                      Battlefield: Bad Company 2
I want to like it so much more than I do when I'm actually playing it as it rarely works out well thanks to the muppets playing it. Time for the return of the CoDfather me thinks

                      Splinter Cell: Conviction
Played through the demo and it's amazing it took them this long to produce what is no different to the older games. Still fun mind.

                      God of War III
                      Short but very very sweet.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Picked up on the cheap and it's not that bad for a simple little game

                      Mass Effect 2
With the recent playthroughs of other things complete finally gone back.

Been catching up with some old stuff mainly.

                        Gekioh Shooting King - PSX
I like this because it feels like an old school shooter. Nothing amazing, but I'm enjoying it.

                        Big Bang Mini - DS
Had this gathering dust for ages and I've finally slotted it into my DS. Loads of fun and the Arkedo logo at teh start has reminded me that I need to play more Pixel

                        Rock Band Unplugged - PSP
Basically a rawk-flavoured Amplitute/Frequency which is no bad thing, right?

                        DJ Hero - 360
Got this in the HVM sale and I'm very impressed with it. Finding some tracks on expert almost impossible though.

                          Hustle Kings -PSN
Not a bad Pool game for £7, lovely graphics, especially the bar environments, plenty of techniques to master and things to unlock, very enjoyable in quick bursts.

                          Wakeboarding HD -PSN
Was a bit unsure whether to get this at £11.99 with it having no demo, glad I did though. The water effects and bright graphics look fantastic, loads of courses to perfect and tricks to master, also has a great 2 player mode. Overall it plays a bit like Waverace crossed with Tony Hawk. Probably could do with a price reduction to £9.99 though to attract a few more sales though.

                          Red Seeds Profile -PS3
This has been taking up most of my gaming time over the last 4 days, pretty much what I already said in the First Play thread but this game is awesome and I have no idea why, it has everything going against it but somehow manages to pull it all together and create something unique. One of my favourite games over the last 12mths.

Thanks to the new DLC, I've been playing Mass Effect 2 again. The DLC itself is nothing special, but I love the fact that you can continue to play the game after completion, continue to look around the galaxy, get all of the remaining upgrades etc. Excellent stuff.

I quite randomly fired up Resident Evil 5 on the PC tonight. I've completed it on the 360 already, and got about 2/3 of the way through the PC version before getting bored. I actually quite like the game (even if it's nothing groundbreaking, and I'd love to see a return to REmake-style), and quite enjoyed it. The latter 1/3 of the game really demonstrates exactly how Capcom have become a bit misguided with the series though.

I started playing through the various instrument careers on Guitar Hero World Tour, starting with the drums.

I'm not sure if the batteries are going but I'm dropping a lot of notes that I really think I'm hitting, so I'm getting quite frustrating and really whacking the drums to make sure the hits register.

I played a set with Ted Nugent and "Ramblin Man" in it and they were so boring to play! About 17 minutes into each song, I was stopping drumming and only starting again when I was in the red danger zone. Terrible song choices for some of these sets.

Got back into Half-Life 2. Finished Episode 1 and started on Episode 2. Finishing Ep1 with just one bullet was challenging, but enjoyed taking out the alien oppressors with the power of a radiator or breezeblock in their faces!

Had a quick go on Left 4 Dead 2, but ended up finishing the two scenarios I'd not tried: Hard Rain and Swamp Fever. The rain effects in the former are really atmospheric. Played with some nice chaps. In fact, it's very rare that I've played alongside any complete douchebags.

I've also been trying a few Indie games out, some of which are great.

Finished Heavy Rain and went back to change some things. I had a decent ending but went back to get a perfect ending.

                                Everyone lives

                                Just want to

go for everyone dying and see a slight ending variation now

and I'm done with the game.

Also played the first level of God of War 3 which I found quite hard cos I suck at games and bought Army of Two: 40th Day which I played in co op for two hours last night. More of the same generally but with an environmental twist which may have been impressive were it not for Uncharted 2 doing it much better. Still, a bit of a guilty pleasure that I really enjoy.

Bought more new games this month than I ever have. Normally wait a few months for bargains. Theres something about playing a game when its new out. I understand why some of you spend so much now!
