What has everyone been playing this week?

Lots of arcade gun games, thanks to a new Pal Wii under the telly.

Ghost Squad (amazed how brilliant this is), HOTD Overkill (great/daft fun, like it better than the previous ones, though I was never a huge fan of the series), and Gunblade NY (it's ... the arcade ).

Light gun action in the form of Gunblade NY & LA Machine Guns.
Followed by attempting to play Sin and Punishment 2 with the Classic Controller Pro. I'm still struggling with that so I've gone back to the beginning with the Wiimote and nun chuck.
I've finally found the sniper rifle on the NMPD station section on ODST!! That was really starting to annoy me as I've been stuck on that area for months.

Still ploughing my way through Tenchu Z. It really isn't very good, the AI in particular seems even worse than some of the earlier games in the series. There's just no danger or that much challenge unless you're careless even on the hardest setting. I actually go looking for trouble, messing with the enemies, having fun with the special weapons. That's really the only reason why I'm still playing.

Make a mistake and get spotted simply run away. Ten seconds later, guards have forgotten about you and are back on their previous patrol pattern. It is a depressingly unimaginative and unambitious game at its core.

It could easily have been so much better.

Back on Little Kings Story after a few months break, goddamn it's good, I even had to look up the solution to a boss that outwitted me too many times.

Also dabbling a little in Killzone 2 and Heavy Rain.

Bad Company 2 is still multiplayer of choice, I'll be the guy driving a quad padded with a dozen bricks of c4.

Still Blur. Got my Legend IV and 500+ online wins now. Though I'll admit it IS getting a bit boring at times going into a lobby and owning virtually every race. It's got to the point where I just pick random cars for the fun of it and still win without even trying.

However, I do have quite a few sessions with 4 or 5 mates in a lobby, which is fun as we are all high level players and give each other a good race.

Also done a little Blazblue, which I'm still getting to grips with but thoroughly enjoying it.

Finished Resistance: Fall of Man last week. What a great game. I'd honestly put it right up there with my favourite FPS's.

Moved on to Resistance 2 and wow, they really did a number on it...whatever that means. They've clogged it with just about every generic FPS mechanic going and it's totally lost its identity. Why oh why do so many FPS's only let you carry 2 weapons now? It just makes no sense in this game, and takes a great deal of fun out of it to boot. Also, you die every 4 seconds.

On the plus side, I've been playing some SNK awesomeness in the form of Real Bout Special and KOF '97. My first time playing both of these and they're just so fun. I'm especially loving the squiffy take on hip-stylez and street flavaz in Real Bout. Bandanas, v-shaped guitars, breakdancing, some kind of rapping commentator. It's just blowing my mind.

Galactic Civilizations II (PC)should be classified as a drug and banned. Every time I start a new game I have to complete at least three full cycles or I'm not happy. Even talking about it makes me want to play it.
Metroid Other M took up my Saturday, mostly due to lacking an internet connection, otherwise I would have spent it with BalzBlue Continuum Shift.
Valkyria Chronicles 2 is still waiting to be started.

I haven't bought anything new for a while, so I'm going back over older stuff gathering up trophies.
I've restarted Bayonetta. Not trying to rush through this time so enjoying it more. Still don't really get how you are supposed to get enough rings to buy anything good, but yer.
I've still got NMH:Paradise on the go, but it's boring as **** IMO, so I only play in short bursts.

I kept replaying level 1.. Until you can get to the level which is just a boss and get about 50000 rings a go.

Not much just got Metroid Other M and Valkyria Chronicles 2 in the post on friday so it has been just bits of that and more or the Phantasy Star Portable 2 demo

Finished Assassin's creed bloodlines, obviously cut down a bit from the original but I'm surprised how much of the PS3 game they managed to squeeze into the PSP.

Also playing a bit of bloodrayne 2. Just as campy as the first but with the pervy factor pumped up by a factor of 5. Particularly happy with the pigtails and pleaty skirted maids.

You're not the first guy I've heard recently admitting to enjoying Bloodrayne as a guilty pleasure. The reviews of the games have always put me off big time although I liked the sound of the basic concept.

Any more love for Bloodrayne to be found here?

Still trying to get some joy out of Forza 3 online before its replaced with F1:2010 and GT5.

Bit of the usual (StarCraft 2) but also started Batman Arkham Asylum (GOTY) again. My word I'd forgotten just how amazing that game is.

Did it get many 10/10 scores does anyone remember? Such an incredble game.
