Been playing Trials Evo a fair bit since its release and have just noticed that my neck is feeling a wee bit sore....tension strikes again! Better cool off on that methinks.

Just started playing an iPad RPG called Avernum. It's originally a PC or Mac game I think and is a fairly old-school Western style RPG and, so far, very good. I'm really getting into it and I'm looking forward to playing more.

Finished Bioshock which overall I enjoyed and decided to do original Xbox MGS: Substance next.With PS MGS original, which I played on the DC using Bleem, and the excellent GC remake you can accept the controls etc being as they were. But this game was a generation later and its continuing general clunkiness, prehistoric 3rd person view and, IMO, the other things wrong with it cannot be excused.At this point I'm not overly impressed with this alleged 'classic'. Probably considered heresy to say this but it just strikes me how much better this could be if it had been made as a stealthy FPS using a Deus Ex/Half-Life/Thief III type engine/template.

Yes, it's easy to get swept away with the Metal Gear Solid 2 hype. Personally I'd have preferred a 10 hour story centering around the tanker/New York setting, playing as Snake.

I think I prefer MGS2 to MGS3. Controversial, I know.

Forgot to say that I finished Binary Domain and it is a fantastic game, I even went and restarted it again to play the unlocked difficulty. Very satisfying to take apart those robots and the plot and characters were surprisingly well handled.

Already got it mate. And the original. I'm going to play the first game soon, once I've clears my head of rpg ing by playing a bunch or arcade games.

Utter garbage. 90% cut scenes and the remaining 10% dreadful gameplay. Nice gfx for a wii game though

Hotd overkill : fantastic light gun shooter. Possibly my favourite ever

Sin and punishment : successor
Now we're talking. This is the business. Lots to take in and I know I played the first level wrong so I will do that again. Need to get my parrys sorted.

Not huge amounts sorting out tweaking TV. Trials Evolution, Motorstorm apoc (to test 3d not properly game, Pes12 (same) Child Of Eden (same), Uncharted 3 (same lol) and bit of NG3. I've bought way too much with trades and the pile is crying at me with about 30 to play including 9 vita games and machine.....soon Witcher 2 and ME 2 and 3

GT5 and Apache which I'm really enjoying, instructions are dire though as is the training mode, ignore them and you have a cracking game.

Ha I loved DDOC. It's my favourite clunk'em up just ahead of Shadow of Memories and SOS: Final Escape.

Seriously, does it get better? I only got to the first mission where a bunch of dudes were being shot at and I had to drag one to safety. My idea of 'safety' and the game's idea do not match it seems as I failed 3 or 4 times before powering the wii down!

It gets better, yes, but it maintains a high degree of clunkiness similar to the other games I mentioned. it's a great game despite its many faults, in my opinion. I really enjoyed the variety the game offered. It's a bit of a marmite game I guess, but I loved it and completed it in two sessions.

Still on Xbox MGS2: Substance.I can't put into words just how poor both technically and gameplay wise I've found certain elements of this 'classic'. Yet it's also peppered with things of real imagination and genius. Do the good and bad balance out though? I'd say no.However I've not finished with it yet. Still working my way through Snake's Tales which are marginally less annoying than the main game but that's mainly because there are no Codec interuptions. Also have the VR MIssions to do which, for me, were one of the best things about MGS1. So maybe my opinion about MGS2 will be changed if I get the similar entertainment value from them in this case.
