What has everyone been playing this week?

Started Rage last night. Lovely looking game. Makes me think perhaps it would be better to hold off playing until I do a few more upgrades - texture pop-in can spoil things at times. So far though I'm really enjoying the gameplay.

Also been playing some Rayman Advance and Rayman 3. Finding the first Rayman bastard hard. Some of the jumps are just poorly designed - like how the hell are you supposed to see a platform underneath you if you can't look down before hand. Your just jumping into a giant death pit. Rayman 3 is a lot easier and I'm having fun with that - really, it must be one of the best looking GBA games.

Tried installing Crysis 2 but kept getting an error message everytime I tried to launch the game.

Played 19 hours of DiRT3. Brilliant game, let down by "Post it on youtooob!", painful menu system (not as bad as DiRT1 though) and duff controls for Gymkhana cars. When you get it right in the Gymkhana, it looks amazing, but it always feels like it was just trial and error rather than any real skill.

Notably, as soon as a speed trial gymkhana appeared, I platinumed it on my second go (in this one, you just have to drift around through the gates as fast as possible). It's just when you have to do the donuts and spins that it seems to lose some accuracy and thus some of the fun. When there's no time/score pressure and you are just doing the missions, it grabs some of that fun back, in a similar way to Tony Hawks of old, e.g. crash through the fence next to the station, do a 180 over the gap, etc.

I would love to play Dirt 3 but it just keeps crashing after every race

I'm playing the Xbox version and it hasn't crashed once. Unless you mean you are just dreadful at driving

360 version here too. A Google search reveals it's a common problem that no one knows what causes it or how to fix it - it's just something that happens with some xbox's I didn't bother with Dirt 2 but from the few races I have been able to do I've enjoyed it way more than the original Dirt which makes it all the more frustrating........
