Ive enjoyed what ive play of the beta so far, but im not in the DD raving fanboy fanclub, maybe cause Blizzard aint the only show in town these days, as eastyy says Sacred 2 , DS3 , both the former games , torchlight, torchlight 2, even pocket legends on iOS or android, im not sure its essential yet, but will put more time into it over the weekend.

Looks like that they have increased the cap and stop kicking people off a game, at least if you are playing in single mode.
I managed to play through it and I found some giant black mushrooms ... now I wonder if this game will indeed have unicorns and rainbows.

I'm loving the randomness of dungeons, that will eliminate any smart arses rushing ahead and getting angry at you stopping for three seconds to check your inventory. Also got the black mushrooms, as well as some nifty rares that will be no more after Monday.

I played a little of this yesterday, and I found it quite fun but not really getting the fanfare it generates. Just feels like Torchlight with slightly higher production values. Not to say that's bad, but not "OMGICANTWAIT!" good, at least for me.

That said I will be buying it.

Ran at 60fps for me with everything maxed/v-sync too, and my card isn't as good as some listed. That was at 1080p, though. Maybe my 4.5Ghz i7 2600k had something to do with it...

It's the item game that makes Diablo stand out above the others IMO. Couldn't really do much in the beta, gear wise, but the full game should be pretty damn awesome when it comes to customisation. Shared character storage, auction houses etc only make it better. Will need the full game to see how those work in the long run.

Like all dungeon crawlers all you basically do in Diablo is furiously click at things on the screen. People get addicted though just becuase of the levelling up and customisation factor that comes with collecting ridiculous amounts of loot.

The beta still runs very poorly for me, so haven't really been able to put much time into it, hopefully the full game will work without the same problems.

I'm looking forward to Hell and Inferno difficulties (which MUST be tackled if you want the best gear), which will require a tad more than just clicking furiously at things on the screen.

Also looking forward to having six simultaneous abilities to play with, a bit of a cutback to WoW's 30 or so, but still. Playing with three was fun as it was.

What resolution are you running it at while having problems with performance? It was literally solid 60fps for me with a Sapphire 6870 1GB at stock speed, 16GB 1600mhz ram and a 4.5Ghz i7 2600k.

I definitely enjoyed what I played, but I think Torchlight 2 will be a very good competitor, I will be picking up both.

How is this different to WoW then? Smaller parties? More story driven/better narrative? Just some of it feels quite similar to what I played of WoW when I had a month of it, but WoW wasn't for me.

They are very different ganes from two different genres. Wow is An MMORPG and this is a hack and slash dungeon crawler. Wow is set in a persistent and ever changing world where you can go fishing and stuff if you want, and if you are in the mood go and play games at a fair during the first week of every month.

Diablo 3 is basically nothing like that, the only way it resembles wow is that they both feature dungeons. The difference is that Wows dungeons are only a small part of the game, in Diablo 3 the entire game is dungeons.

You're not going to see anything of WoW in one month unless you no-life it.

WoW has everything, this is just hardcore co-op/solo dungeon raiding, like Gauntlet, but arguably much better. Arena PvP will arise at some point but Blizzard have stated it won't be competitive. I don't believe them.

Don't forget to make your Wizard Banner, to unlock the in-game sigil, it's the last one.

Definitely rolling a Wizard as my main. They look sexy as hell. Very nice setups for killing crowds and killing solo enemies (bosses). Really hope the real money auction thing doesn't screw this up. I know RMT would of infested the game if Blizzard didn't take action but it still dont sit well with me.

*uninstalls beta* goodbye for now friend

The RMAH will be ace as long as Blizzard don't act sneaky and populate it with their own 'duped' items.

I'm selling everything I get for the first couple of weeks.

Im pretty sure anything you sell for real cash, blizz take about 25%

Would be nice if i could make some silly money on this as i did in WoW, but with real cash. However i doubt it.

Edit: you can sell gold as well hmm
