Honestly it's not about that. I used these as examples, but I could have used many others. It's not about the news, but about our reaction to the news and our assumption that we are right and we have a right to demand the moon on a stick.

Hmmm... if I read the title again, maybe it's actually the 'royal we'... In which case, yes I have to agree!

This is nothing to do with games/gamers - I used to read the unofficial Prince forums, but I gave it a rest because the level of obsessive insanity made this place look like... er... Newsnight Review. When Prince released a song they didn't like - "OMG I knew it all along Prince has no talent, he made a pact with Michael Jackson to supply fresh babies in exchange for hit records in the 80s!"
I can imagine fans of the purple one would be obsessive. I wouldn't want gamers to be put in the same category (although I love the talented twat myself).

There does seem to be this tendency to put everything into one of two boxes - amazing or ****e. In reality there are many shades of grey, but it's just easier to ignore them.

I think the idea of waiting until one date in a year each year for major announcements is naive and a bit pathetic to be honest. With projects taking longer and longer why should people wait until this magic event to release news of their work? No other industry would work like this and from a business sense it is really insane!

Dont really want to read the rest of the responses in the thread for possibly finding examples of what you are complaining about!
I agree with you, and it is like this on Neogaf and Rllmuk at the moment and it is making me wonder about spending so much time on these types of forums.

While before they would introduce me to games I might otherwise never know of, these days it seems I log on desperate for info on new better releases.........always forgetting that I have a pile of games that I have STILL yet to finish!

It makes me laugh. Nothing decent was announced. So? Do you have nothing else in your life besides videogames?
